Christian Posted August 6, 2015 Share Posted August 6, 2015 I'm looking for a good inexpensive dosing system that can work with or with out the apex system for my aquarium build. I know that apex came out with one that has 2 pumps on it but it's like $300+ and I don't want to spend that much. I was looking at slave dosing system like the MCD-3-m slave pump I know it has a s-vido port to be controlled so does that mean my apex control can make it work just like the new apex pump that just came out? Neon Reefer Posted August 6, 2015 Share Posted August 6, 2015 Seems like any standard dosing pump w/ a known rate (IE BRS 1.1 ml per minute) pump could be controlled w/ a simple time function thru the Apex. But then you have to do the math on figuring out how long to run and number of times per day. I have a programmable Jabeo 4 pump system which cost less than $100 and works great as an independent system. It figures how long to run you just tell it how much to dose / when and how many times. Once calibrated it will determine how long to run. Mine seems dependable enough but I have had it only a few months. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
