Wade
I found this on the same piece of encrusting gorgonian covered rock that had some Caulerpa nummularia growing on it. The closest ID I could come up with is either grape caulerpa or Botryocladia. I'm leading towards the Botryocladia. What do you all think?
Wade
I found some posts on nano-reef and reefcentral where folks are trying to grow Batryocladia. Is this an especially beneficial macro algae?
Planeden
It's pretty?
Wade
It didn't look very attractive to me.
Planeden
Then I doubt it's very beneficial. Pretty is hard to tell in the small pic on a paper towel. Of course, you still have that pesky eye of the beholder thing. Psonally, i like the slick little bubbelicious algaes.
subsea
It is Red Grapes. I think it is as gorgeous as it gets. Ten years ago, I maintained a 16" tall Botrycladia that filled 1/3 of a 75G tank. It was maintained with 3W per gallon using 40W florescent lamps. I have tried pushing this deep water macro with intense lighting. I bleached it every time. Keep it below 50 PAR.Patrick
Wade
Hmmm. This is the only piece I've seen and I plucked it out and through it into my QT. I don't think I got it all so we'll see if it comes back. Thanks Patrick.
