Tunze Comline DOC Protein Skimmer 9004

Got one of these new, installed into tank - didn't produce any bubbles, just clacking noise. Disassembled it, put impeller onto propeller - still not producing bubbles... Does anyone have experience with this skimmer? Does anyone have a photo of what the inside should look like? I'm wondering if something is in the wrong place...so frustrated.

IME that sounds like one of two things

1) the impeller shaft is broken somewhere

2) the impeller is "airlocked". I'm not well versed on the model you listed, but if there is any air at all in the housing where the impeller sits, the impeller doesnt spin correctly.

the docline takes a few weeks to break in. If you dont see any bubbles at all, you need to check your venturi. Do you see the pump moving water? And how deep do you have it submerged?

Ok in a last ditch effort before giving up, I blew threw the hose, it somehow fixed what was wrong and now it's working great. There's a great comedy bit here..

ha.. yah, sounds like your venturi was clogged or pinched..
