      im not sure it is.. I've turned my fixture down to the point where other corals (zoas) are reaching for the sky, when they're halfway up in the tank. Something about LED's has always caused my chalices and acans to recede a bit.. Dunno...I blame Obama.

      actually I wouldnt say they melt, they're just very susceptible to infection, and extremely sensitive to dipping.

    Why don't you use your Sketchup skills and make a rendering of what the tank SHOULD look like given it's age and mixed reef stocking... Ask and you shall receive. I give you, a 1:1 scale rendering of the dropoff tank.
