jestep
Have you been using zeo yet at all, or waiting to get this running first?

Planeden
So how often does it need to rotate? Or is it constantly rotating? I will have it rotate four times during the day, If it were to be rotating constantly it would not allow the bacteria to establish itself as well Forever or just while it is establishing the colony? +Capt. Obvious
For a basic full zeo system you need 4 things: Zeolite Zeobac Zeostart Zeofood
ckyuv
Is this a full sps system? Will you disable the phosban reactor or run carbon in it while you are running zeo?

I am a pretty much 95% sps with a few lps here and there, and maybe a leather and a few zoas. the phosban is being phased out and carbon will be ran...although passively and not in the reactor
sifuentes31
So does the added bacteria in the Avast consume the phosphate in the tank. Just wondering why GFO isn't used. Also are fish going to be in the tank or just a coral tank?
jestep
Don't want to hijack, but you remove PO4 removal media partly because of the Redfield equation. Without PO4, denitrifying bacteria cannot effectively grow and thus cannot convert NO3 into N2. Zeo recommends using no PO4 removal media, and I believe they explain more in depth if you look in their manual.
