GKarshens
Today I was at work when someone asked me if I had seen the aquarium outside by the dumpster. I went out to check it out. It is a 140 gallon glass euro-braced tank. The company next to us does high end audio/video and also manages remodels. The tank had been an in-wall setup that the customer didn't want anymore. So they were just throwing it away. Inside it was also a huge canister filter with an Eheim 1262 hooked up to it and a bunch of really nice plumbing parts! Total score! So instead of doing the 240 home built tank I think I am just going to use this one. It's not as big as I wanted but it is the perfect dimensions and style for what I wanted. It will still be a while before I get it set up but I am so happy to have it.

mFrame
I think it's much too small and you should stick with your original plan. Give me a heads up when you put this back out by your dumpster...

barderer
it blows my mind that people throw stuff like this away on a daily basis. Good job on being adaptable and recycling all that raw material.
caferacermike
Thanks guys! Gonna keep the pump for now. I need something to feed my massive Euroreef! Like this big? Nice score. I paid over $500 for my Eheim 2250 canister filter and another $560 filling it with Eheim media. You might consider trying Ebay for it and recover more money than the pump, then buy a pump and some extra stuff.

caferacermike
Ooh a swing and a miss. Sorry Callahan, my Ducati Sport Classic could never be considered a "crotch rocket". I have had my eye on getting a new 1098 so if I do.... You'll be spot on.
