rollrok18
Wondering if anyone can give me some good feed back on this product or have any other recommendations? Any feedback would be great pertaining to getting rid of this stuff.
Chrispar
what worked for me was a peppermint shrimp from Rockin reefs, that thing annihilated any and all aptasias i had
Derek
I've used it before. It works pretty well but it is kind of tricky to apply. I ended up just getting a butterflyfish to eat all the aiptasia for me.
mhart032
the best stuff in called blue vet aptasia killer, you dont have to inject it into the aptasia you just coat it with the syringe. it works very well.
pbnj
That's how Aiptasia-X works. It comes with a hollow syringe and you just coat the aiptasia with it (looks like Elmers glue when it hits the water).
subsea
Get pepermint shrimp. I have used several different products to kill Aptasia, they work on the ones that you can see and get to. But there are many more waiting to bloom. I have used strong alkaline solution as well as limejuice. They all will kill Aptasia. For long term success, use pepermint shrimp. rollrok18
Thanks for all your feed back, I think I will try a combo of peppermint shrimp and fish to do it naturally...if that does not work then I will hit them with some aiptasia-x. thanks again for you guys input
NonSequitur
I've had good success with aiptasia-x not only for aiptasia, but for majanos as well.. from what I've read it's primarily sodium hydroxide (NaOH, AKA lye), which is very effective when applied directly over the nuisance anemone (it exhibits an intense localized heating reaction, plus is very strongly basic), but you have to be careful about overspray, as it can be irritating to other animals if you get it on them, plus large quantities of it can affect SG, as it releases sodium as it reacts . It's definitely something to use with care, but in my experience works very well as a last resort when used according to the label directions. innate1
I use Kalk, I just mix it really thick and put it on the aptasia with an eye dropper. Works great and is supper cheap.
reefman
innate, Will the Kalk work on nuisance Paly's as well? I've never found any of the aiptashia remedies that work work totally on the Paly's. They only slow them down for a while. Stephen
