I changed to the mesh a couple months ago and like them. They are much easier to clean and are the same 200 micron as the felt. I get them from BRS.

Epsom salt is a good cheep source of magnesium sulfate. I would be good to find a source of magnesium chloride also.

Ich is almost always present in our systems. It effects fish that are stressed from their environment. Sometimes from moving to a new tank or new tank mates. It can also be caused by changes in water parameters or temperature swings. My Purple Tang had it after he was in my tank for a few days. He showed no signs of ich when I bought him and I have not had a fish with ich in 5-6 years. I added garlic to the food and fed well for about 2 weeks, everything cleared up and he is doing well.

I will take them if you are going to the meeting Sat.

I ordered and tried the 10k reeflux for 2 days. Yellow really isn't my color since I'm a fan of the blue so I'm sticking with the 12k. I could imagine though longer term that you would get great growth with that bulb.

You may want to give the 10K a little more time it takes about 100 hrs for them to reach their full k value. Might not be quite as yellow after that. jmho

You can use a turkey baster to blow it off the rocks and siphon it out or a net for removal.

Tell them they need to have their eyes checked and that you have plenty of good fish.
Everyone seems to like clowns

Bulk Reef Supply has some inexpensive models also. I have their combo carbon/gfo reactor. It works good. Just happens there is a group buy going on until Monday

I have the equivalent of the minis over my 120g and have just enough room for 2 vho actinics. My tank is 24"w

Doesn't a water softener do the same thing?
Not to the same extent. I have mine plumbed in after my water softener and my tds before my RoDi is still 200+
-
One more thing if it is used plan on buying new filters. Probably $50-60
-
It is really the only way to get your tds to 0
-
As above, add Di but if you are going to drink the water also, I would put a T in after the tank to go to the DI so that you don't drink the DI water. It is so pure that it will lower the amount of electrolytes in your body. You might want to add as second carbon filter before the Ro membrane.

I will be there. I will have to leave a little early though. Looking forward to making one finally

What are your water parameters? Are you still using well water?
