  1. Difference in color, and color morphs are pretty common. If you've heard the expression "Everything looks different in someone else's tank," that applies to this.

Lighting, water conditions, flow, and what is being fed to the tank are all determining factors in this.

  2. Wish I could claim is as my own thought, but another board (nano-reef) has an Aquaculture forum, so that is where I got it from :D

Yeah. Well, I got the idea for the forum itself from different forums as well.

It proved to be pretty beneficial from what I've seen and experienced myself.

  3. Hi ARC.

I was just wondering if we could add a "Propagation" forum that can give advice on propagating corals, ie, how to frag Chalices, SPS, Acans, etc.

I think it would be greatly beneficial and would help quite a few people.

    Just a suggestion.

    Thanks for reading,

    Brooks

  4. oh. I got some of that, but it doesn't look like yours!

Haha. Well, mine still has coloring up to do. Surprisingly, it's a rather hard color to get colors right on.

    Thanks Chad and Belinda!!! :)

  5. Looks nice.

    Thank you! :)

    Everything looks great Brooks!

    Thanks C&B! :D

Looking good kiddo ;). Beautiful FTS.....and macro shots as well...see you're getting the hang of it. You should be proud of your tank, not many people in your age group are as dedicated to the hobby like you have. Keep it going :).

Thank you Cindy! I try to keep it goin. :)

your tank looks gorgeous! you have very nice corals. when my tank grows up i want it to be just like yours. the colors just pop out my screen.

Thanks Lamont! That means a lot. biggrin.gif

    nice job brooks!

    Thanks Gilbert! wave.gif

Great job Brooks. Your tank is awesome. How do you get the rocks to stay in postion and not fall?

    Thanks Theresa!

Erm... I think I just got really lucky, haha. The top rock still wiggles a little bit, so I think I might Silicone it in the future once everything is a little bigger.

    You are very nice!

    :D Thanks Clint!

AWESOME Brooks!!!! I like the "elite" coral.....

    Thank ya Mama! wink.gif

  6. Hi all! I wanted to post some pictures of my 34g Solana and set up a progress thread so I can look back and see where I started from! It has been running for a few months now. I downgraded from a 75g to this because I wanted my tank upstairs in my room, and a 75g wouldn't fit!It is mostly SPS dominated, but that is soon to change! I've got the bug for the expensive Chalices and Acans! :nerd:Here are some recent pictures:FTS -DSC_8071.jpgRed Hornet Acan - DSC_8054.jpgRainbow Acan - DSC_8039.jpgSome Chalices - DSC_8059.jpgGame Over True Rainbow - DSC_8249.jpgFishypets' True Rainbow - DSC_8279.jpgDSC_8294.jpgSunset Milli (Can't get that orange to show in the pictures!) - DSC_8254.jpgPearlberry (older picture... had some algae problems)! - DSC_7925.jpgI've got a lot more SPS that I'll take some pictures of. :) I also just got the Orange Sherbet Chalice, and another Rainbow Acan that isn't looking too great right now, but will puff up and gain some color sometime soon! Thanks for looking,Brooks

  7. I have never heard of an LTA splitting! That is awesome. I thought they didn't haven't asexual reproduction. I decided on the DSA Neo 185. Your hubby talked me out of the DSA Standard 215 because it has a center brace.

No center brace is definitely the way to go, Derek! yahoo.gif

  8. In the wild these things are virtually indestructible. gun.gif

Unfortunately, many people in the reefing community aren't having such luck, however, the knowledge about them is increasing, and so is the life expectancy!

Hopefully, one day, everyone will be able to keep them confidently. yawn.gif

  9. Hi everyone. :)

I'll go ahead and admit it... I have an addiction to LPS. So, I'll be selling no more than 4 1" - 1.5" frags of the Sunset Milli. It isn't a very common piece.

I cannot capture the colors in my pictures, however, I'll post one of my pictures, and one of what it should look like (which is what mine looks like).

    My photo:

What it look like in person (Photo credits to GreenMako):

Frags will be cut to order, 1 - 1.5" multi-branched (most likely).

    $30 each.

    Only 4 available.

    Thanks,

    Brooks
