  1. Just got them tested, and they somehow tested at 5. I'm finding this very hard to believe... EVERYTHING is fine. Not one thing is out of the ordinary. There is no ammonia, so I'm ruling out over feeding. I'm wondering if this test kit was just super inaccurate. The testing bottle was almost empty, which could also be a sign that the test kit was old. I just did a 5g water change to help dilute the Nitrite if they are even there... Everything else tested perfect. The NitrAtes were at 10, which is also another thing that leads me to believe the test kit was inaccurate.
  2. I did pick mine up at AquaTek, Collin. I think that is the best price you will find locally!
  3. A feeding trough is actually a really good idea!! I hadn't really thought about it... I might do that in the main tank.
  4. Cirri? Yeah, they are SO cool! My female has teeny tiny ones at the top of her head... perhaps some of the fry will have them as well!
  5. Looking good! Very pretty colors you picked out!!
  6. YEAH! Glad you got it all set up!! It looks great! By the way, we're technically family now!
  7. I'm thinking it'll be fine, too. I always tend to worry, but I'm glad people on here know how to calm it down! LOL! And again Laura, these little guys are just so incredibly awesome!!!! I love 'em! Also, my dad named them Bonnie and Clyde... lol. I picked it up from Francis.
  8. I was hoping you'd offer that, lol. I might have to hit you up here within the next few days...
  9. Thanks for the advice, Subsea! I imagine it will all be fine as you said, though I was just wondering what could be done to reduce any visible traces of NO2. The test was done with an API test kit, which has a record for not being accurate. However, I've never had a problem with NO2 before so I got a little panicked.
  10. Went and got my water tested today and the only that that appeared were Nitrites. They were at <0.5... Its funny, though. I didn't have any Nitrites 2 days ago. The ponies seem to be just fine, and are eating and breathing normally. There is nothing out of the ordinary for them, so I'm not extremely worried. Though, I want to get rid of the remaining toxins as soon as possible. I know water changes would be good, but I also heard that doing a water change would prolong the cycle that is occurring. Any thoughts or suggestions?

    75g reef

Make sure you're not putting too much rock against the back glass. Detritus can get settled behind it and cause some issues later on if you decide to move it again.

VorTech was the way to go. Glad you got one! I would never go back to not having one... they are just too awesome. Though, I don't need one on my current set up.

    New!

As James said, he will probably keep moving. I've found they are the most indecisive on animals.
  14. Hey everyone. Looking for an Aqua C Remora HOB skimmer. Preferably one of the smaller models, but show me what ya got!
  15. Knew it wouldn't last long, LOL. My mom's friend has a Seahorse tank, my mom saw it, and naturally had to have one. She told me about it and I told her I was in!
  16. The water right now is at 73.6 with a small heater on the back. The heater was designed for a -12g tank, so it is very small. My room temperature was at 66.
  17. My firs tank running off of LED's. Yay!

I love my LEDs. They are cool

  18. Typically on the colder side -- 72-73? Which is the ideal temperature for Seahorses, but my room tends to be much colder. Right now its at 66. Hey Matt! Just picked up a PAR38 bulb and clip on lamp and am going to see how that works. Right now, I'm very happy. The color looks good and I love the shimmer and simplicity of the bulb/fixture!
  19. Uh oh! I'm not sure how to keep it at the correct temp without one. Any suggestions?
  20. Gotta wait 'til my Dad gets home to take a picture with his camera.
