    Trickle Filter

    From the album: Photo Tour

my homemade trickle filter. Basically I put egg crate down at the bottom so the bulk head doesnt get clogged. Then filled with rock rubble and threw in some bio balls (probably 50 of so) that are mixed in with rock rubble. Have some algaes growing on the top of the rock rubble near lighting. The wavemaker splashes water over so that there is a clear wet / dry period for the rocks.

    Display 19902

    From the album: Photo Tour

125g. 6'x18"x21". Has a 4.5" DSB. Mixed crushed agronite, pink sugar size sand, and sugar size live sand. Hard to tell how much LR. Best guess is 125 - 140 lbs. I add and take away and move to the sump and refuge so much that the best I can do is guess. Definately have a large apitisia anenome problem. Picked up 5 peppermint shrimp from mama and going to pick up some more. Hopefully the tank will be rid of them soon. Water Circulation: Tunze Wavebox, K4. Return pump with SCWD wave maker which recieves about 250 GPH input and outputs roughly 200 GPH. This alternates between two 3/4 inch return lines every 11 seconds or so. I know I need to increase the return pump. I have an extra one just sitting int he garage but if I was to lose power with my current set up and had 2 pumps running it would flood the fuge and get water on the floor. This my next project. Need a 75 gallon tank (48"x18"21"). Do you have one you are trying to sell? LMK. Lighting: Retrofit 48" Universal T5 lighting kit. I know nothing about this as I bought it when I first got into the hobby and someone else basically picked it out. Take 120 volts and ups it to 277. Running two white lights in this compartment. Unsure about the actual bulbs. Need to replace soon. Two 250W MH double ended 14K bulbs. PFO penants and dual ballast. 48" T5 setup that was given to me that I run 2 atinics in. Clean Up Crew: 1 cleaner shrimp, 5 peppermints, 10 turbo snails, emerald crab, various snails hermits and crabs. Livestock: Currently running bare bones. Just 1 large and happy sailfin tang. SPS, LPS, Softies, sponges, hitchhikers, Clams. Will try to inventory later Water flows from right to left and splashes over the internal overflow into...

    From the album: Photo Tour

Welcome to a Photo Tour of my 125g tank. After being in the hobby for 17 months now I finally feel like I am getting the hang of some of the things. My first tank was a 75g + 15G internal sump tank. We buffed the scratches out of the tank and then drilled the acrylic for a refugium in the stand. That tank was running for about 8 months when I received this 125g free from a very good friend who moved to California. The only way I have been able to afford this hobby on a college student's budget is by several very generous donations and help from others. I set up the 125g for 4 months, then moved to my current location (has been running here in South ATX since June). I was unsatisfied with the stand that came with the 125g. It was old and worn out and I had worries of it's structural soundness. I took a glass crate from one of the construction sites I was working at as an intership. With some slight modifications and a 8'x2'X1" piece of plywood I had my oversized stand. This allows some space around all sides of the tank and a work area and place for my ballast beside it. The canopy that came with the tank needs some work but it gets the job done.

  5. Interested in 100g sump refuge / 30g frag tank. Do you have pictures of these? I need to know length/width/height and location(s) of any drilled holes to determine if I can use them. Do either of them have internal overflow boxes? Thanks, James

    Kenya Tree Frags

My Kenya Tree has tons of frags. Some I have been growing for several months and are several inches long. Ive also got some other corals that Id be willing to trade. I live off Manchacha and William Cannon. Looking for friendly frag swaps with anyone in the area for pretty much any type of corals. If you live close and are interested let me know. Ill take some pictures tonight.
