Has anyone seen a Frogspawn randomly pop up in their LR? I have a small, 12 head, colony of frogspawn. I noticed this morning about six inches away from the closest branch was a little tiny frogspawn head coming out of the LR. I thought this was pretty cool, but I was curious if anyone else has ever seen this. Alright, well I tried to upload a pic, but for some reason the forum keeps telling me "Error No file was selected for upload". I am 100% sure this is a frogspawn head and not a hitchhiker.

Looks like a sculpin to me. I don't know much about them except that they are found in both SW and FW. I actually caught a few of the FW variety last week and was using them as brown trout bait.

Love my new cleaner wrasses. I literally have a line of fish running across the front of my tank just waiting to be cleaned, and a fish buffet for the wrasses.

Dare I ask how overloaded your tank was? Sounds like your fish were probably already stressed and the cuc dying just pushed them over. I only say this because a 30 gallon tank is small and in no way should you ever have had a hippo tang in that size tank. So how many other fish were in the tank. Hope this doesn't come across wrong, but I want to make sure zenofix understands everything before getting rid of an excellent filter feeder. On a side note I also kept two cucumbers and they did an excellent job of keeping my tank pristine. One did die and everything survived without any issues.

I agree boiling kalk paste works extremely well, but if you can find a peppermint shrimp that will eat them then that is much easier. I don't know if this helps you at all, but mine only come out at night. I never see them unless I get out the red light and start looking.

I had that exact same skimmer on my solana and loved it. How often do you pull it out and clean the foam block that sits in the bottom of the skimmer body? If you don't maintain that appropriately you will fill your cup in a very short amount of time. Also, how many holes do you have covered on the bottom of the skimmer body? I only kept the one large hole covered. If you still have issues you can call nano reef systems, they always gave me good customer service and were able to troubleshoot very easily.

K, but if I turn change the pulse knob then I have to re-tune it every morning. Sounds kinda like a PITA. Isn't it good for the fish to slow down the current at night?

I just installed my Tunze Wavebox which is awesome just in case anyone was curious. My question is what does everyone do with these things at night? Do you just leave a full wave going 24 hours a day? Do you put it on a timer so it is only on when the lights are on? Is there some way to turn the power back or just make it a steady stream for night time? I only ask because my Vortech had all of these options and I am hoping there is something similar I can do with the wavebox. Thanks

I find that aquacave or hellolights has the best prices for new bulbs. Hellolights usually has free shipping as well. Aquacave usually has 5% coupons floating around on the internet. I have found several different ones by googling "aquacave coupons" -
Does the Iwaki have the Japanese motor or the American motor?

I have both a canary and a six-line wrasse. Unfortunately, neither one of them will touch the flatworms. I'd be interested to know if a mandarin would eat them though. I hadn't even thought about trying one.

Sad Sad day. first my pink spotted goby went floor surfing last night, and now I found my powder blue tang stuck to the side of my MP40. Poor guy was still alive. I pulled him off, but he didn't last long.

You could get one of the 50G drums from Austin Homebrew and cut it in half vertically. It wouldn't look very good, but it would be super easy to plumb and dirt cheap. I think they sell the drums for $10.
