  1. So this morning I was staring at my 100G tank thinking what it would be like to be out of the hobby, and needless to say I don't think I'd be very happy. I've had a form of a saltwater tank now for 5+ years, and am not quite ready to be rid of the hobby. So I got the okay to downgrade into some form of a nano tank. Since I haven't been on that side for quite a while I don't know what is currently the best. Here are a few things I do know: I don't want another Solana, biocube, or nanocube. It will have to be able to support SPS. I'm okay with an AIO, but I want to be able to easily clean and maintain the back compartments. Finally, I want something in the 20-40G range. From my very limited research the best tank I have found so far is the CadLights LED 22G Super Output with built in fuge. Thoughts?
  2. Yall are actually third and fourth in line. I've got two others who PM'd me last night for it. I'll definitely let you know if it falls through. The Purple Monster has already been sold and picked up.
  3. I actually repaired an acrylic rx using a 5 minute epoxy that was specified for plastics. I just used a little steel wool to rough up the area first. It has worked great ever since. They sell it at HD. I would only suggest that if you don't want to make the trip to regal as weld-on is definitely the better choice. Also, the past two times I've been to regal they've waved the $25 fee. I believe that fee is really only put in place for when you order custom cut acrylic sheets.
  4. Thank you sir! Due to personal reasons the buyer had to back out on the Hawkins, Red Planet, and the Sour Apple so they are all three back up for sale.
  5. Hey Brooks! I'm sad to say I'm taking a break from the hobby for a while so all my corals have to go.
  6. You know Mark I just had a thought...I'll bet it would look amazing on your sandbed!
  7. Thanks for the comments. You should have seen it when I first got it. It was dark purple and neon pink. It had just come out of a dirty dirty tank so it was very well fed. It lost quite a bit of color in my cleaner SPS tank.
  8. EVERYTHING IS SOLD! I switched to LEDs approx. two months ago and several of my SPS lost color or browned out, but they are all still guaranteed healthy and the color is really starting to come back out. Should not be an issue at all. ORA Hawkins Echinata. My FAVORITE SPS in my tank. Approx. 2.5" tall x 4" wide. $110. This is a steal as it sells for $70-$80/inch online SOLD Large Paletta Lovelli Colony Probably 12" tall and 12" around. This think has grown like a weed in my tank. $120 SOLD I had a really hard time getting a good picture. Cali Tort Approx. 7" tall $70 Reduced $60 $40 Oregon Tort The color is off on this because of the switch, but it is starting to color back up nicely. $40 SOLD Myagi Tort This one really browned out under the LEDs, but you can see on the base where it has started to regain color. The third picture is what the color looked like before LEDs. $40 Reduced $35 $25 JG Yellow Approx. 6" tall $50 Reduced $45 $30 Vivid's Purple Monster This is $129 for a 3/4" frag on vivid right now. This frag is approx. 1.5" tall and multibranched $75 SOLD Red Montipora Setosa frag $20 SOLD A. Insignias Usually more turquoise than it is now, but coloring back up nicely $20 SOLD Neon green Birdnest. A little larger than a baseball $35 Reduced to $30 SOLD Nice colony of Red Stag Acropora This one is usually more pinkish red, but again the LEDs caused some browning. $80 SOLD Baseball size colony of Tricolor Valida This one really browned out, but is still very healthy and is coloring back up. $45 Reduced to $40 $30 Frag of Palmer's blue milli $20 SOLD Blue Tenius This has some STN on it from the LEDs, but I have not seen any more recession in the past few weeks and is getting healthy again. $20 The cheap price is because of the areas of STN SOLD Sunset Monti colony. Comes with the rock that it is growing on, or maybe we can break the rock underneath $50 if we break it off the rock. If you want the rock I'll have to weigh it when you pick it up. The rock would be $2.50/lbs, and I would guess it weighs 10 lbs. SOLD 3-4" colony of Sour Apple Seriatapora. This coral grows rapidly. $30 SOLD ORA Red Planet It has lost a lot of color in the switch, but will color back up nicely The second picture is what the color looked like before the LED change $20 SOLD

Hi medi, was refd to u by another ARC member that remembered you shutting down ur 100G rimless. Is it by chance still avail and if so, what u asking for it? Thanks!

  11. Be careful dimming those bulbs. You can change the spectrum that the bulbs are supposed to produce and create new problems. I would suggest just reducing your photo period way down. Maybe 1.5 hours a day and then increase 30 min to an hour each week
  12. The MH that these are replacing were in a hanging canopy that I built to match the stand. I simply just gutted it and then added aluminum rails for these to hang. So I have no AI hanging products on this fixture. It fell because the canopy is just a hair larger than my tank so I can srt it on top while I am running te cables. What happened was after I ran the cables on one side then it pulled the canopy over and made it slide into the tank. Complete dumb mistake on my part.
  13. A little thing called a flood! JK well sorta... I'm glad you got it all figured out.
  14. I know they are not a sponsor, but I feel this is worth sharing. I had a major problem occur while I was installing my new AI Sol LEDs. My hanging fixture slipped off the top of my tank and fell into the water completely submerging two of the modules. Thank goodness everything was unplugged so nothing got zapped, and there was a chance that my lights would survive. In the process of pulling apart the cases I accidentally broke the large plastic cover that holds the lenses in place, and apparently I managed to break one of the LED pucks as well. Side note.....maybe I shouldn't be doing this kind of stuff at 230 AM.... Anyways, I dried and cleaned everything to the best of my ability and then placed them both into a bed of rice to hopefully pull out any remaining moisture. This morning I plugged in the modules to find that 2 out of the 3 modules were working great. On the third module not a single blue LED would light. I again pulled everything apart and started trying to find the problem to no avail. I finally broke down and called AI for help. After a brief question and answer session we determined that I broke one of the blue LED's and disrupted the chain so none of the LED's would fire. I was completely honest in my dealings and took full responsibility for the accident. That being said AI offered to send me a new LED puck, and a brand new plastic housing with rush shipping completely free of charge! I offered to pay multiple times since it was my fault, and they are out of warranty, but they adamantly refused any payment. All is set to arrive on Tuesday so everything should be back to full capacity then. It sure is nice to get awesome customer service, and because of this one experience I will always recommend AI products.
  15. Sorry I can't help you there. I have never trusted a siphon system. Just too much can fail, and in my past if it can....it will. The wife usually doesn't appreciate that either.
  16. From the pictures it kind of looks like your tank is not drilled and you are trying to make a siphon style overflow out of PVC. Am I correct with what I think I see? Can you take a pic from the side or back straight on so we can better see what is going on? If this is a siphon style overflow and a newly setup tank then my main recommendation would be two things. First, find out if your glass is tempered. If it is not the proceed on. Second, drain the tank and drill it. That will save a lot of headaches in the future. Drilling tanks is easy and only takes a small amount of time. You can install a small overflow box on the back that will never fail and look great. I wouldn't recommend the use of check valves to prevent overlows in your sump. They can and eventually will fail. All it takes is for a small piece of trash to hang up on the inside and not let the valve close. Instead you should install a sump that is large enough to hold enough water so if every fail safe failed you still would not end up with a wet floor. Also, I think you may have already done this, but just in case you haven't you can drill a small hole in the wet side of your return to create a siphon break. Just make sure you do it on the bottom of the pipe so you don't end up with a water jet shooting straight up out of the tank.
  17. I would definitely verify your CA readings before you changed anything. My CA Checker is very sporadic. I did three tests within 20 minutes and got three very different reading. Something like 415, 460, and 495. I followed te directions to the "T" and still didn't get consistent readings. I also tried several time via email and phone to get in contact with Hanna tech support, but have had no luck so far.
  18. Very nice...I'm excited about picking mine up tomorrow. Thanks for taking good care of it for me.

    Skimmer Issue

That stuff makes my skimmer go nuts for several days after dosing. Big water change and new carbon seem to help speed up te process, but it still takes time to settle down
