  1. Hey James, Ill split the room with you... If you still have it available
  2. It also helps when you specify how big your system is when you tell someone how much your dosing
  3. I had 2 make the sound you describe. The Koralia 1 stopped making the noise the Koralia 4 I had to exhange. I would say give it a week and see if it corrects itself.
  4. I will be picking some of the Red Sea Pro salt up this week if Rivercity has it. Are you just testing CA and DKh? I would also like to see Mg levels of all these salts.
  5. Can you post some pictures of your Tank? It will make it easier to determine what kind of alage and what you should be doing to reduce it..
  6. This really depends on your setup. What type of T5's are you running? Single reflectors or a Module? Are these Supplimental lighting or are you planning on just T5's? Same question with the MH. What watt, and reflectors?

    Sumps

It cant hurt to put snails in the fuge. Just be careful they cant get into the return pump.
  8. Yes get him out if you can they are NOT reef safe.
  9. Why would you order a fish online instead of just get it at the LFS? At least in the LFS you can see it and get an idea of what kind of shape it is in. The Local stores will always try and get you something if they don't have it. Plus you dont have to pay huge shipping cost.
  10. Post pictures of the tank with the new lights when you get it up.
  11. Very nice, How is everything doing?
  12. I'm not sure if more wattage will create a spectrum shift on a Florescent like it will on a MH bulb though.
  13. Yea remember that a Icecap Ballast will run a 54w T5 bulb at 80 watts
  14. Shrimp often get blamed for eating fish, clams, etc. But they usually just eat things that are dead or decaying so the most likely if it was the shrimp the seahorse was dead and the shrimp ate it. Hard for me to imagine even my large Peppermint shrimp eating a seahorse though.
  15. OK I changed the order to a 1 micron Sediment but the order is sent. I got 2 extra for anyone who wants.
  16. 5 micron is just the sediment the Carbon is .6 micron
  17. Thats fine, but are you saying your Sediment filter is 1 micron? If so I would consider changing it to a 5, 1 micron will clog to fast with Austin or surrounding area water. The Carbon filter is .6 micron Im just going to order 6 of each. If someone else wants one just contact me.
  18. Shipping is roughly 65 cents a filter
  19. The filters life depends on your water quality. You should be measuring your water out of the Filter unit with a TDS meter and it should read 0 with new filters. I replace my filters when the TDS reads more then 4 or the DI resin is 80% Orange. When we were having all the flooding in spring my filters were lasting a couple months due to the high bacteria levels in the City water but normally they last 4-6 months. These are high quality filters, not the cheap stuff that is repackaged by some of the Aquarium companys. If you go to Lowes and look for a 5 micron sedimet filter you'll pay $10 for 1. I like having them on hand for 2 reasons. 1. They are very expensive to buy. these filters probably cost around $35.00 (for the set of 3) if you can get them this cheap. Online about $25.50 + $7.00 shipping 2. Only 1 store in town that carries them. Keep in mind this does not include the DI filter which usually is about $25.00 or more. I am considering ordering some DI Resin but at a later date. If you guys want to go in on some DI Resin we can get 44 LBS of it for about $229.00 plus shipping, That will fill about 35 cartridges (you have to have refillable cartridges but I have never seen a DI cartridge that wasnt refillable). If you divide the price by 35 its about $6.50 a pop which is great compared to over $20 If you guys want to go in on the DI Resin Ill take 5 of the refills which means we need 30 more
  20. If we can get 10 of each filter the price is this 0.6 Micron MATRIKX® +1 Carbon Filter Cartridges $7.97 5 Micron MATRIKX + CTO/2 Carbon Filter $5.99 5 Micron Purtrex Depth Sediment filters $2.24
