  1. Hey Craig, Im not sure what you would call the mother since they both split from the same one, although the one Im selling is the bigger one.
  2. Just like it says I have a Softball size Rose bubble tip anemone for sale. Ive had it for over 2 years and it decided to split last night. Asking $80.00 and Local pickup only. This is a picture of the one that is not for sale, The other one is bigger but is headed for a spot in the tank I don't want him in.
  3. Glad to see it was just a noisy fan bearing.
  4. Well Mine is a little diffrent 6am 2 6ft VHO Actinics and 4 39w T5 Actinics 6:30am Left 400 watt Reeflux 12k 10:30am Center 400 watt Radium turns on 12noon Left 400 watt Reeflux turns off 3:30pm Right side 400 watt Reeflux turns on 5pm Center 400 watt Radium turns off 9pm Right side 400 watt Reeflux turns off 9:30 Actinics off I have LED's that add some red and also do a dawn/dusk, moonlights, and lighting effects. I do this to keep the heat load off of the tank. This way the chiller never comes on. I cant imagine running my MH longer then 5-6 hours a day. I get great color and growth at 5-6 hours.
  5. Well considering the Hail/Tornado's storms we have had tonight in the metro area I wanted to know what everyone does during these storms? If there is something approaching my house I will unplug the tank during the immediate storm to guard against power surges and or in worse case scenario if a wall comes down and the tank shatters I don't want to get electrocuted. Hope everyone is ok... I really don't like hiding in the Laundry room BTW. We had golf ball size hail
  6. Chris I didnt know you were there You should have said hello
  7. The worms did not eat your zoas. You may have something else munching on them. These worms are just scavangers but do not activly hunt anything. They just sweep there tenticals out on the sand hoping to pick up food flying across the sand. I have many of them and they are totally reef safe. Some people do not like them because of the way the look but I think they are a good part of the clean up crew.
  8. Tank looks great John! Glad to see it up and running for you
  9. Stop this madness Andrew!! You are going to make me buy an Iphone before the 3G version comes out!
  10. Do you mean the bulb or the Light unit? The T5 bulbs in it are only about 3 months old and are Geissman the MH Bulbs are about a year old and I would highly recommend replacing them but you could probably get away with using them for a couple months if needed. The Unit is manufactured by Catalina Aquarium out of California This is the light unit on there page but they list it as 4 39w t5's mine has 4 54w t5s http://www.catalinaaquarium.com/product_in...roducts_id=1481
  11. The Sump is an Oceanic 2 I belive Ill PM you with a phone number The only picture I have of the sump is from when it was new
  12. This is a light canopy with 2 250 watt MHs and 4 54w T5's. Also has moonlight leds built in with dimmer. A Magnetic ballast is included $250.00 This cost me $650 brand new 2 years ago and is good for SPS. Its the unit on top of the tank. Can also be mounted from the celing without the legs.
  13. Im selling my used 90 gallon tank, stand and sump. Its all Oceanic stuff. I used it for about 2 years but is all in good condition. I recently got a 220 gallon. This is the tank about 2 months ago This was the tank brand new. Ill have the lights for sale in another thread. Asking $350.00
  14. My system was about 160 gallons total and it did fine. This is the specs from the manufacturer website CL-650 1/4HP Aquarium Chiller unit. Heater control addition included. 15. Im selling my old chiller since I got the bigger one for the new tank. This chiller ran my 90 gallon with 50 gallon fuge with no problems for about a year and a half. It didnt run much since I had fans blowing on the tank, I would guess about 1 hour a day. $280.00
  16. I would highly recommend the Tunze over the wave 2k. I have a Wavebox and have seen the 2k in action. The 2k is mostly mechanical as you mentioned which makes is way more prone to problems, The band at the top that turns it doesn't last long being that its over saltwater and starts to make noise. The Tunze is basically a powerhead so its only moving part is the prop inside. If your Tunze wave box breaks you can get parts locally usually that day (my prop broke and Bruce at Aquatek made a special trip to Rogers to get the part that day! What service!) I have never seen anyone run a 2k wave box for a long period of time, most people I know that have had them eventually got wave boxes. I would spend the extra money and get the one that will last and has great brand reputation. Plus the Tunze importer is in Austin and we love to support our local businesses!
  17. I would stick to basic clean up crews at first. Nasarius snails (my fav sand sifters) Nerite (my fav grazers.) Trochus snails (best all around snail if you ask me ) Blue or red leg Hermits Don't add starfish or shrimp until your tank is a little more established because they are way more sensitive to changes in water chemistry. And please don't add anything until your Ammonia, Nitrate, and Nitrite are all at 0 .. All the local fish stores will gladly test your water and I would recommend it even if you are testing your own just to get a conformation because depending on what brand of test kit you have they may be more tricky or less accurate then others.
  18. In the mean time I would recommend listening to some of the many pod cast out there that talk about cycling tanks and such. They are a great source of information that can be entertaining at the same time www.reefcast.com www.thetalkingreef.com
  19. I cycled my tank with minimum lights but I did have them on for a few hours a day. If your rock isn't cured you do not need to drop shrimp in your tank. Your rock probably has enough dead and decomposing organisms to start the cycle. You would drop a dead shrimp in a tank that had base rock that did not have any dead or decomposing organisms on it to start the ammonia spike. I don't really see anything on your rocks to worry about. You cant miss it when the cycle is finished because you will have an algae bloom. Just be patient and keep us updated.
  20. Very nice, What kind of tank is he going into?
