  1. It was great meeting you. Hope I didn't get you in too much trouble with your wife, talkin' fish :) My smaller Blood Parrot is pestering the newcomers right now. They definitely don't follow the "Do onto others.." rule. It wasn't long ago that his larger tankmate was doing the same to him. I will definitely enjoy having them. You were VERY generous on pricing the Hammer too. Thanks for everything!

    Bill

  2. Reduced the price on everything! As is the case with everyone, I have had 'very interested' inquires but no visits. No 'no shows' though.

I have had 2 inquiries on piecing out a few things. I will contact you individually, perhaps soon, if these reduced prices don't find any buyers.

    Thanks

  3. I'm interested. When are you wanting to submit the order?

I'm interested. When are you wanting to submit the order?

I was really hoping to just do it to it. In deference to the couple of people ordering the lions share I would like to get the order off pretty quick, so we increase our odds of getting everything. I was thinking of holding the order open till........ Monday 10pm. Hopefully this will mean the order will get back to us by Wed or Thur, nlt Friday. I will call Monday to make sure Tuesday will still get us delivered next week. If the order must be placed on Monday, I will with a cut off time of noon. Sooo, either way the sooner you get your order in....

    Thanks

    Bill

@Woods - my premise was/is to simply get together enough people quickly so we can cover the postage. As such 'we' would just submit a single order and divy it up when it gets here. I will ask them Monday, what they can do to make our side a little easier.

btw - I am planning to be at the Sherwood Forest thing tomorrow, and I don't have a smart phone, so any further interaction probably won't be till later Sunday nite. Don't know what it might be but if you want to call me use 784-4475. I can accept text's on my phone but I doubt I will text you back, except for something real simple - again, I don't have a smart phone :)

  4. Does anyone want to go in a an order from Reefs2Go.com.? Looks like they have a bunch of things on sale, particularly a bunch of different zoas 5 polyps for $10. It looks like we only need $150 for free shipping. I could order $30-$50 for sure. This would not be a 'group buy' for them. Just a few of us would go together and order at least $150 total - 1 order, we sort it out when it gets here. I would be happy to handle it. I do work from home so I could also receive the order when it gets here, during the day. If someone else wants to order more and handle it that would be fine with me also so long as they were no further south than N Austin/N Central Austin. Having not ordered anything from them for quite a while I don't know how long "While supplies last" is, but I would hope to get the order off pretty quick for delivery, by the end of this coming week.

    Anyone?

  5. @Dave: Could you hold that for me and I'll get back to you later, if I decide I really want it:)

@Mike: " Each seller is welcome to sell under their own terms, but it helps drastically if the listing with the items sets the expectations of the seller" - Very good point. even better ="understand when you commit to buy that the seller is probably turning down other offers, so be good to your word".

Okay - thanks for the soapbox!!

  6. The last time I wrote about this I was censored. Hopefully since I am not talking about any particular individual this post won't have the same fate. I believe a big part of the problem is the 'Dibs' system that most people employ. To be fair, I have rarely met anyone from ARC who wasn't nice. But responses to ads typically are: "I'll take it." "I want it." "Dibs".There seems to be little need for politeness cuz all anyone things they have to do is say "Gimme" and so long as they are the first responder they will get it. This, despite the fact that many items are priced well below market or someone is literally giving something away. I gave away a 75 gallon tank once. I was new or I just would not have given it to the first person who literally said "i'll take it off your hands". Huh?? Thanks for the favor. I submit that since all one must do is say "I'm first in line.", there is no accountability for their future actions, or lack of them. How many times have I seen someone say, if you decide to part that out 'I want the ____'. Now how could they write that without knowing the price? They don't. Again I think some feel like so long as they say 'Dibs' first. they can work out the details later and they may or may not actually go get it - they just want it, if they want it in the end. I have never posted it but I think the guy on Maast has the right idea when he sez "I reserve the right to sell to whomever I please and if you want to offer me more than I'm asking, please do." In the end all I'm saying is Be nice. Be responsible. and Be fair to everyone. I'm sure everyone does not agree with me. If you want to argue the other side, and I realize there are some, please message me privately. I don't want this to become a flaming war. Thank you.

  7. 1 is a workhorse 5, but apparantly it is for t8's up to 2 36" long - it's new

1 is a used advance 2,3,or 4 t5 48" - a friend gave it to me as working. I didn't get it to work but I may have had the plug wires wired incorrectly

  8. I'm trying to clear out a number of things, so here's my offers:

2 sets of 150 W DE MH's complete retro set, ready to run: $60 each

include Sunpark 150 W Ballast, Basic Reflector, 2 bulbs, your choice

Aquamaxx 14k, 1-JBJ 12? or 14K?, 2 'no name' 14K? or 15k?, 1 10k. All of these lights have less than 3 months use on them, except the 10k which still looks fine, but is 6+ months old. I believe a couple of these bulbs were only run long enough to see the color.

2 Sets of 250 W DE MH's complete, ready to run; $70 each

include IceCap 250W Ballast, Basic Reflector, 1 used bulb. One 250W 14k Coralife, less than 3mths old or one 10K 'no name' apprx. 6 months old.

1 EuroReef RS 80 skimmer. Includes Sedra 3500 pump apprx. 9 mths old. Works great, just go a bigger skimmer. - $75

Note in the picture there are 3 basic reflectors and one a little nicer. I would like to get $5 extra if you want it. It currently has some 150W posts in it, but I can also include some new DE ceramic posts for 250W bulbs.

This would leave one set of new 250 W DE ceramic posts - $5

  9. bump for a nice little skimmer in particular. With all the cones, and fancier skimmers coming out, you don't hear as much about EuroReef any more, but for those of you who don't know - this is not just an off brand skimmer. In the 'affordable' range at one time it was pretty much the skimmer to buy. TMSAISTI

  10. Wow - I'm sure the rent was cheaper, but I always thought it was a bad move when they went to the feeder road. On the bright side, I had a trade-in voucher from them, that I just redeemed a few weeks ago - thank goodness. Too bad though a number of 'old timers' got their start there. Carlos from RCA worked there for instance, Steve from Horizon Pets.....

  11. Most people say they are not necessary but I have the activated carbon and another cartridge? which are for choloramine, which is appararently harder to block than chlorine. These were an upgrade from the standard stuff that comes in RO DIs from BRS

  12. 1) EuroReef RS 80 Skimmer w/ Sedra 3500 9 mth old pump; no problems. - working great when I took it off my tank. If I didn't pay so much for my 'upgrade' I would still be using it. It includes a second factory pump. I thought it wasn't working, bought another and then realized there was just some gunk in the needle wheel. The second is only missing the nipple and air hose (not supplied w/ the new one). $100 obo

    post-648-0-72984400-1331337729_thumb.jpg

    2) 150 W DE Metal Halide. Sun Park Ballast; Basic Reflector; almost new 14k Aqua Maxx bulb + older 10k no name bulb. $75 obo.

    post-648-0-04931300-1331337891_thumb.jpg

Both are complete and ready to use.

    Thanks

  13. From this angle I'm mot sure that it is a majano. I have only seen them that their tentacles grow on the edge of the 'face' like a paly or zoa. From the picture it looks like to me that they are growing from all places. Also the varying sizes on the tentacles seems unusual for a mojano or aptasia either one. Your experience may, and probably is, greater.

  14. I want the lights and test kit.

You know, please chalk my following comments up ta just being and old fart, and maybe a rude one at that, but here goes: I apologize in advance because I am not trying to single you (gator) out. I have seen waaaay too many similar responses, but it just strikes me as a complete lack of courtesy, rude, and a childish 'gimme I want it attitude' to ask someone, who is generously taking the time to offer something, by saying "I want it". To my mind 'Dibs' is not any better. :(

Sorry, it's not you. It's just the 1001st time I see so little courtesy on the board, I just have to comment - and this was it.

Leroy, I apologize for horning in on your post, with my personal comments.
