  1. How about a DIY chiller? and have it run through the chiller before the seahorse tank? i did a DIY chiller using a mini fridge i bought from Craigslist for 25 bucks..

Sounds cool! Got a link or pics?

  2. hey if you go to LOWES they have a realy cool fan for $10 and is small. Ive got one blowing across sump just to help with the cooling and works great. I also have some 4" computer fans that would work in a canopy. They move some major air. Let me know if interested, this always helps(they would be mmmmmm FREE!!!)

I will take you up on that offer, if you need or are looking for anything LMK maybe I can bring something in return... Ilike the way you have your fans setup. Im just tryin to see what people use. I have seen a few neat ideas online. One of the coolest is on Lucky Lou's 125 gallon. Maybe he will post picks. He has 3 large fans in his canopy that blow right on his reflectors.

  3. Im looking for ideas on fans. Im thinkin about the clip on 4 or 6 fan unit for the sump and not sure for my canopy yet. Im just looking for pics and ideas. My tank stays 78-81 degrees with MH's on I havent seen it over 81. Im getting ready to add the VHO, but that wont add to much heat. The big issue is I want to plum a small seahorse tank into my big tank. Ive read seahorses need cooler temps around 77-78 degrees max. If I can keep My water around that I will be happy!

  4. Yep I have been looking at them as well. I was using the stock lens with the camera on the macro setting. I have been playin with it alot lately and reading alot of good info. Hopefully I will have some better pics soon.....

  5. Bill if you have the standard 75g I would run 2 MH's 175/250w. If the center brace is in the middle it will effect the par if you dont keep it clean. The glass center brace could get hot enough to crack if splash with cold water, but I have only heard of this happing a few times. If you were to run 1 MH over the center brace I would keep it atleast 6-8'' above the brace depending on the reflector you use. JMO. This is assuming you want to keep SPS in all areas of your tank.

    Good luck

    Dustin

  6. I really just want the tank. The Mag 5 would be fine for what I plan, with head space it would prolly only push 250-300gph and that is all I would need. If you want to sell just the tank and Mag5 PM me with a price please. Im in no hurry and can wait for you to empty the tank.

    Thanks

    Dustin
