Man, I can't thank Jake at RCA enough! He was able to get me a 2nd pair of gaskets that fit. Got them installed about 10 min ago and so far so good...not a drip! I can breath a sigh of relief and get things back on track to get everything finished.  Next up is a simple stand to mount the apex and other controllers to that'll sit behind the tank. Working on salinity now. I thought I'd calculated it correctly based on how I usually make water for water changes...30 min of running the RODI and two cups of salt usually always hit 1.025. Tested the water in the tank last night...1.035!!!!

    Jake is great!

I have been bumping my salinity up for the past week! I tried to calculate it and came out 1.020... the start is always the hardest...

    That is gorgeous!

Thanks! The wifey wanted it dark so that’s what she got! The really sad part is the lighting in the living room isn't great so the detail will never be seen....

I'm actually still learning which is the secret recipe. Just swapped to the below and am a huge fan so far:

    Blue +
    Coral +
    Actinic
Blue + (soon to be changed to an Aqua blue Special)
    Purple +
    Blue +
    Coral +
    Blue +

Have you watched the JF video talking about T5 lighting? He uses lots of blue. I will be ordering new bulbs in a few months when I start adding corals. I’m still not sure what I wanna do. I haven’t got to see a lot of 8 bulb fixtures in person. I’m worried about there being too much blue! I like the 14-16k look.

I didn't realize we are red stand buddies and now sump buddies too!

I’m super happy with mine! I wanted the 60” but I had the Lifereef fuge already. The difference in 48” and 60” new price just wasn’t justifiable in my situation....

It's true. I was there. Carried it all by myself.

The sump will be installed in 2019, when I have my first free day off without a 9-month old. emoji22.png

    I got a 2 and 9 year old.... I completely understand!

Lol just taking out the trash! Now if I could only get it to take it to the curb I’d be all set! Have you got that sump installed yet?

Looks pretty good! This whole time I thought the tank on the right was an ATO reservoir, but it's actually a refugium. It looks like you've T'd off of the return line and it's going to gravity feed back into the return chamber? The aquascape looks great! Love the extra room along the perimeter.

Yup you got it! It is a 16g 14x14x20 Lifereef remote fuge. I am a fan of a large fuge. I did drill and plumb a second “emergency” drain. I purchased a decently oversized return pump to help feed the fuge and manifold. Thanks I love the extra room too! Every other tank I’ve had has been crammed full! I am having a matching cabinet built to go next to the tank for my ATO and electronics.

    duh! :fool:

Now that you say it, I see it so clearly!  I thought it was some kind of hanging setup to support the manifold.  Now I can't even see what I was thinking it was before!

Lol no worries! I was confused and had to go back and look at the pic...

What are the 3 vertical "fins" in-between/next to the output fittings on the horizontal manifold?

    The shut off valves?

Thanks! He did a great job! The best part is It just slides in and out. Very easy to remove if needed!

  12. Ok so 97% plumbed. Have to make the last of 32 trips to Lowe’s for that little project. No I’m playing around with the rock work. What do y’all think?
