That's what I get for choosing to keep so many hermits... laugh.png

  2. I was v pleased with my first order recently. Bought several LPS corals and the colors were spot on on most of them. I have them under LEDs, so they pop as much as they can.

The only exception was the open brain which wasn't quite as red in my tank, but it's still super bright in person; no complaints.

These guys are definitely one of my favs now! :D

  3. Ordered a few things from DD now. Only 1 DOA (the first, typical!) but they gave me credit back after I called (didn't even ask for photo!) Also credited back the shipping when I requested it.

Sadly though I would think that chap needs a specialised colder water system. Probably why he's been sitting on the shelf for so long. If he did manage to survive in high 70s I don't think he'd be very happy.

  4. Oh ya how many people knew they were talking about Shane before they posted the store name LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hahaha totally! When I first went in there I made the mistake of flashing my ARC card at the checkout to see if they offered any member discounts...oops!

I enjoy talking to Shane, it's good to be able to get a different opinion and mix bits of it into what I'm already doing.

  5. Interesting topic!

I run a few Zazzle stores. Zazzle is a website where you can upload your own art and have people buy it on t-shirts, mugs, iPhone cases etc etc... they have a crazy range of products. When someone buys something, Zazzle do all the "heavy lifting" of printing/shipping and just pay me a royalty. So no overheads and v few customers to deal with for me... it's pretty awesome. :D

If you're interested my site is http://www.cartoonizemypet.com. My husband and I have a few other Zazzle stores too which you can check out on that sites links page if you like. (I don't want to be cheeky and post too many links!)

BTW, feel free to use my cartoon fish as avatars, it's always fun spotting them in aquarium forums. In fact there's a regal tang of mine I keep seeing pop up in ARC hehe

  6. Glad they're all finding a good home! I made the mistake of showing this thread to my hubby, forgetting quite how terrified of snakes he is. Oops!

I tried to reassure him that it's because you're out in the countryside, but would you believe it 2 days later (when I'm out, of course!) he comes home and finds a snake outside the house! Typical!

We think it was a rat snake, so not too bad, but it was the 1st "remotely threatening" wildlife either of us had seen since moving here. You don't really get anything dangerous in the UK. Oh TX!

  7. My last 2 tanks have both come down with cyano real bad at the 4-5mth mark. Really weird, almost identical timing to the day. One dose (or 2 on nano) of chemiclean seemed to do the trick.

  8. Y'all are going to ruin the saltwater fish industry by buying these cheap fish!

Bwhaha! I feel so dumb getting this excited about stupid mollies!!

Another question... Do you need algae growing for them to munch on? My tank is currently pretty clean. Will they accept mysis etc?

  9. By the way, I forgot to say; I've read that mollies start to swim differently in SW. Perhaps they'll start doing that after a while and then cope a little better in the faster current.

  10. Maroon x occy hybrids do occur, but I've only ever heard of them happening at ORA where they say that (as unlikely as it sounds) the sperm have managed to survive a trip through the breeding tank system and successfully fertilised another pairs eggs(!)

I haven't ever seen a pair actually form between the 2. I expect it is possible (never say never!) :) but v unlikely. Definitely best to separate them. You might want to grab a cheap hang on the side breeding net for one of them until you find it a new home.
