  1. They have them at River City Aquatics. I was just there and there was a bottle on the counter.
  2. Yeah, I can focus the eye piece to read the numbers clearly. I was having a hard time seeing the white/blue line. All is better now. Thanks

    Black Mold

Perfect. A new project for next weekend.
  4. Thanks. I was wondering if I bought a piece of junk. I will try other light sources.
  5. Looking for something that can be played through Windows Media. My family cannot figure out how to download anything!
  6. Hey everyone. I wanted to know what everyone uses to shrink videos to a smaller size. I have been taking videos of my little girl and want to email/post them but they are like 50NB each. Any suggestions?
  7. Is it just me or is reading a refractometer hard? I can bearly see the blue/white balence. I have never used one of these but they seem simple. Could it be the CFL light that I am using? Should I use another light source? I bouth this thing for $21 of eBay and wonder if I should have got a better one.
  8. I've had good luck with a place called Beach Automotive, in Round Rock. He is the father of a teacher that works with my wife. He fixed both our cars and was very easy to work with. Its a small shop, not a chain. He always called before he did anything and was fairly priced, IMO. Here is the info... 2500 County Road 172 Round Rock, TX 78681 (512) 255-6605

    Black Mold

Okay, I have some serious black mold growing inside the canopy. Would this be caused by lask of air flow or something else? What is a safe way of getting rid of this stuff? I assume I could pull the canopy and clean it with anti-mold stuff but that scares me. I would think that if water got up there and dripped back into the tank it would not be good. I have an IceCap fan pulling air mounted on top but it goes off when the lights go off. Leaving the fan would help, I guess. Any suggestions on cleaning the mold? Oh, and its also on the tank rim. James
  10. If you find one without a stand, I have one. It was made to hold an Oceanic BC14.
  11. Just make sure you dont get the brands with anti-mold or mildew protection.
  12. Here are the numbers for Hydor USA. I just told them the washers fell out and went down the drain. They sent me two replacements free of charge. 866-493-6787 or 916-920-5222 James
  13. I had issues with both of mine. Come to find out, there is a small black washer in the bottom of the impeller shaft that fell out. I just called them and they sent two replacements. Without the washer, it was either banging around or would not start.
  14. Thanks guys. I am buying right after this post.
  15. Holy Crap! I love the video. Like thedude, I thought I was the only one. I was born in Kentucky and my family played bluegrass all the time. I love it! And for historical purposes, I am a Hatfield.
  16. I know I have made a few post on this topic but I came across THIS tonight. <click link> I really need to get away from the hydrometer and $31 shipped does not sound too bad. Is it worth it or should I go with something off Marine Depot or Drs. Foster/Smith? James
  17. I am in Cedar Park and can help. PM me your contact info and time of the move.
  18. I have an Oceanic 135 with dual overflows and regret it. I wish I had a single center chamber with dual drains/returns or something like StarFire has. His tank basically uses the whole back wall as an overflow so there is no visable overflow boxes in the tank. I cant really explain it correctly so maybe he or another member will chime in.
  19. I have the Octopus NW200 (standard, not a recirc) and like it. I have noticed the acrylic starting to "spider" on the collection cup but not anything serious. Can’t beat the price! I ordered the skimmer from Marine Solutions and have to say the customer service was null. I sent several emails asking if they received my order and if it shipped and never heard back. It just showed up about a week and a half later. And yes, the instructions were one sheet showing how the parts went together, that’s it. All in all, I would buy another one if I had to upgrade or replace.
  20. I have had good luck with the refillable DI cartridges from http://www.buckeyefieldsupply.com. I like the prices and the DI resin I get from them. I have been using a .5 micron sediment filter (dont see them on the site anymore), a .6 micron Chlorine Guzzler carbon block filter, and the refillable nuclear grade resin. So far, so good. I have about 232ppm from the tap, about 5ppm after the RO membrane, and 0ppm after the DI. The better the water quality going into the DI the longer it will last. This is from a 50GPD unit.
  21. Steve, it was great to meet you and see your setup. I got home and tested the ATO and Maxi and they work great. Thanks again. James
  22. Thanks Steve. I will call you a littler later today and setup a time.
  23. Did StarFire change the logo at the top of the page? I dont remember seeing the bubbles. I like the look!
  24. I will be ordering some tomorrow morning. Does anyone know if they have screw slots on the back so they can be mounted?
