  1. Thanks. I'll try that and check the warranty. I bought it in late 2005 I think. If I'm lucky TekLight will have at least a 3 year warranty.
  2. That auction also has 2 different pictures. The one near the top is thin and long, but the one near the bottom is monstrous. I would definately get them to clarify size and manufacturer of the lights. Otherwise it sounds like a nice deal. Beware with the low clearance if you have an external overflow it may not fit if it is 20" wide.

    Free 10 gal

    I can use it. 542-1322
  4. I have a 48" TekLight 8 lamp T5 fixture. 2 of the lights haven't been coming on lately on their own. If I turn off the power and turn it back on they work. The 2 bulbs are next to each other and on the same switch. Can someone please help me before I get dieoff?
  5. If they feel the need to lie about the product in order to sell it then it probably isn't worth buying in the first place. I would say forget the liar and let them go broke.
  6. It's hard to tell. I would bet majano because of their reproduction rates and commonality, but it does look like a condi. Condis are fairly inexpensive so I would recommend getting rid of the one in your tank in case it's a majano.
  7. I'm 24 and should feel young, but I grew up with problems such as a wealthy and depressed family. I've never had to work and probably couldn't if I wanted to. I lay around most of the time trying to think of reasons to keep going. I wish I could say differently. Enjoy life if you can. It doesn't matter how old you are.
  8. Greaaaat. That wasn't a waste of my time. ~X<
  9. I lost 30lbs in the last 2 months on Nutrisystem. You really have to have the will power. I tried hypnosis for eating and smoking and I think it's more of a placebo effect that makes people think it works. If you have the will to get hypnotized then you probably have the will to change anyway. That's the secret. I quit smoking and am eating better, but all that happened a couple years after I tried hypnosis.
  10. It looks like a type of algae to me. I wouldn't worry about it.
  11. That could be due to your computer. On mine the 20k looks bluer.
  12. I've never had a problem with F&S. I've ordered several hundred dollars worth of corals and fish from them and I love them. They should definately give you a refund. In this case though, you should probably buy locally.
  13. I will be there too! I'll try to be good. (hide the cheesecakes)
  14. You can count on me to crash the party. I'm going to eat all the cheesecake!

It probably doesn't come with a ballast and the bulb you will have to buy is the expensive part anyway.
  16. I don't think a siphon will be strong enough to really clean it, especially if you use airline tubing. Force = mass x acceleration. You need more of a mass of water if you want to get it clean. If it's algae you need to scrub it off and it will get sucked down. If it's sand you can leave it or turn off the return pump and remove the box completely then use a high pressure hose or showerhead to spray it out before you dry it off and put it back. I make my fish drink the water so I just use my mouth. It's really not that bad.
  17. I have a small rock with some mushrooms that I keep in my sump with many pods you can borrow or buy. Or I have another one with mushrooms in my main tank that I could give to you, but it's very small.
  18. Next time I will bring more cash and my checkbook so I don't have to wait a credit card line. By the way the bubble coral has expanded ten fold and is doing much better. I can't wait to see what it's like when fully inflated. Thanks for the great deals. I hope you stock up on more Koralia 4s next time. They were all gone in the first 5 minutes!

    Live Rock

Most likely cured Fiji. I hope by mid January we will have enough people interested that we can get a big wholesale discount.
  20. I got a purple bubble coral (isn't looking too good), a galaxia, and a bucket of red sea pro salt.
  21. CrazyJ bought a lawnmower blenny at the big RCA sale today.
  22. Okay, I've heard many people say that there are constant water changes in the ocean. WHERE DID YOU GET THAT IDEA!!??? The water that replaces the previous water is just as used. It's like the current from a powerhead. The fact that new water is coming to the area has nothing to do with the freshness or cleanliness of the water. If anything, it proves that you don't ever have to do a water change. You will still have to add supplements though. The aquarium doesn't replicate the decay process which puts nutrients back into the water. About the issue of temperature...humans can live in a wide range of temperatures. That doesn't mean that it's good for us to experience a wide fluctuation daily. Many virii are contracted when a body has to change tolerances thus the saying "you caught a cold". Corals, like people and other animals, may be able to handle a wide range of temperatures, but they have preferences that don't favor daily fluctuation. If you keep the temperature more stable and have a seasonal temperature change your corals will be happier. Millions of years of evolution have created these animals. In order for them to adapt to temperature variences they only need to experience it once in a while (seasonally).
