  1. Since the bowfront tank has no cover or canopy and he has tried several times to jump.....I'm afraid one day I'll find it on the bar or the floor. The main purpose for us to have it at the time in this particular tank was to control the overpopulated bristle worms. This fish was about 1" when we got it and since we feed the seahorses 3 times a day, he grew fast. I might as well reduce the price as long as I know the person has a cover top or canopy.
  2. I've decided to sell our male red velvet wrasse (Cirrhilabrus rubrisquamis). He's over 3" in length and very healthy w/a great personality. I'm asking $45...OBO. Here are some links to read on: http://www.vividaquariums.com/10Expand.asp...Code=01-5014-10 http://www.marinedepotlive.com/red-velvet-...h--wrasses.html
  3. That's an awesome offer Joseph....you're a cool guy!!! Good Luck! -Cindy-
  4. It's really interesting something like this happening in an environment you created......haven't had a major loss or that has attacked any of my favorites...but I'm glad I found out sooner then later.
  5. Well, I was very surprised to see this coral (acan) being aggressive @ night. That explained why my green rhodactis mushrooms looked like something ingested and spewed it out.....the acan killed one of them. Did some research and found some interesting discussions and photos, if you keep reading the posting you'll see interesting coral attacks: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/printthr...&perpage=41 Last night I took a pic (not the best) of the coral extending its mesenteries...got to keep an eye on this ones.
  6. What brand camera do you use?....spectacular pictures you got there.
  7. I can understand, been there. I think what gets me the most is electrical cords and water. At first, I left all the wiring and power strips to my husband, let the pro handle it (15+ yrs. experience) that should count for something, thank goodness for GFIs'. But always test for water leaks before anything, bulkheads usually come with a rubber washer to make a good seal and that's to prevent leakage. Sometimes taking slow is better.
  8. I agree w/Beretta...IMO reef ready is much better. There's no hang over pipes, skimmers, heaters......almost everything can be hidden under w/sump. Noise reduction is a plus and you can custom build your cabinetry.
  9. I have no idea where to buy a ready made setup, but most setups we have to built it to fit our needs. -Cindy-
  10. First: Check your water parameters. Second: Do you have any fish that might be picking on them. Third: Check for asterina starfish (small blueish/gray). Everytime my gsp were receding or retracted something was bothering them or getting eaten. I found out that this small starfish were eating the tissue of and there for I had a constant battle with this pest. I moved it to another tank and are recovering. Maybe there still adjusting to your tank. Hope all goes well. -Cindy-
  11. Dave is your hand still shaking? I can relate to that feeling while remodeling our home. I prefer to use the nail gun/skill saw than sanding....by the way tank looks fantastic What a major improvement!!! Best Wishes, -Cindy-
  12. How much are you asking for the Candy Cane frags?......I want to check w/husband, if we are attending, then I'll PM you for a frag. Thanks, -Cindy-
  13. Whenever you trim it....let me know, I'm interested in getting anything you don't want. I want some growing in my sump. -Cindy-
  14. Ronald, Wondering how this macroalgea is doing. Have you been able to cultivate any? If you get a chance, I would love to have some to get it going in my refugium. Just let me know. Thanks, -Cindy-
  15. This is some close competition......when does voting end?

    brine

Make sure you rinse w/RO or saltwater. I do this for my seahorse tank....trying to minimize the pollution in their tank. Entropy (Rich) can tell you how big the seahorses are ----his family was at my house last week. I think they look pretty healthy IMO and they're getting their nutrition. -Cindy-
  17. That's a pale blue--ricordea mushroom, I just got those about a month. They're still trying to split and so far they're not as big as my orange ones.
  18. That looks awesome!!! I'm glad both of you didn't give up.......I can only imagine all the work, frustration and stress, but when all is done, you'll sit back an enjoy the finish project and feel such pride....THAT'S A GREAT FEELING. Now all of us here have to wait for pics of the finish setup. Can't wait!! Best of Luck, -Cindy-
  19. What made it crashed? if you don't mind asking.
  20. Hey Karen.....have you tried just plain flake fish food. At Horizon Aquatics......when Steve gets a new arrival that is not acustom to eat frozen prepared foods......he usually gets the most simple fish food there is "flakes". Later on they get enticed w/other foods. You might want to give it a try if you have some. Give it shot and if it doesn't then...well you know what to do -_- . Best of Luck, -Cindy-
  21. Did you ask if it was eating? and what was it? I learned somethings when fixing to purchase a fish......especially if they've been at the stores for a while, if anyone can feed it right in front of you. You can then assume that at least the fish is eating. Have you notice if it has processed (pooped) anything?
  22. Hey Karen, How is the Toby?.......Any luck w/ the feeding? You know, if you have some flake food, it might try it. A little pinch will be enough to see it will take it in. -Cindy-
