Electrician just left, I now have two dedicated 20 amp circuits with GFCI for the tank!
The tank is in at the store too, just waiting on delivery!
If you don't mind my asking how much did the electrical work run you (ballpark) ?
I need to do the same thing in the near future.

Not to mention silicone is easy as can be to break by hand. You can just as easily loosen a siliconed pvc threaded connector by hand as you would one just dry fitted with nothing. It's good at stopping leaks but doesn't actually glue the surfaces together at all

But I guess the possible downside of silicone is that a bump can also break the seal because it is a hardening sealant, which has some potential to then leak?

Ah, cool. I did not know about the taper on the threads, so that's really good to be aware of!
Based on reading that I think I am using the right sealant. It says it is for PVC and ABS fittings, non-hardening sealant.

I've had good luck with plumbers joint compound on plastic threaded fittings. Does the silicone cause problems down the road if you need to disassemble things?

I find with dosing that I have to adjust alk based on growth and calcium based on any imbalance between alk/CA in the salt mix I use for water changes. Alk has to be adjusted way more frequently in my tank.

In other news I was browsing reefcentral today and saw that the Vectra returns pumps aren't compatible with the Apex WXM module . That was the major reasons I went with it, I assumed that all the Ecotech stuff always works with Apex. Guess not.
I was really looking forward to having the Vectra go into feed mode when I use the Apex automatic feeder so all the food doesn't go down the overflow. I don't see any other pumps that will do this either, so I guess I will stick with the Vectra. Everything else about it seems good.
At MACNA Ecotech was asked about this and they replied that WXM support would eventually be there.

Haha - I got 4 of those shirts at MACNA. They're now my official tank work shirts!

I don't see that skimmer cleaner on the new monster?

Time to put on the brakes?

Yes, very stealthy, but as Ty said there's no mistaking his path ...

I'm feeling blind ... where's Waldo?

You could check out Advanced Acrylics for an ATO container. I had them custom make mine and I really like it. They also have stock sizes up to 30 gallons, and usually have a black friday sale too!

For the black schedule 40 check flexpvc (one of ARC sponsors). Do a search for PVC-BLACK on their website.

Soon you'll be dosing clarified butter ....

When will the book be printed? Farmer Ty's Coral Reef 215 Build coming to a store near you.
If you read back a ways in the thread there is a 'Cliff's Notes' style summary of the entire thread to that point that is spot on and hilarious.

Ty you are getting some great growth there, and color is awesome too!

Nice! I would think the vectra L1 would be better for your size tank? I believe DanH has dual gyres on his 240 and it does a really good job moving the water.

Can't wait!
