1. Haha I don't normally let it get this full. One day we were talking about neutral colors and the next half my house is covered in plastic! I'm not exactly sure how this happened but I blame HDTV. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
2. This smells just as disgusting as it looks! [emoji31] Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
3. Most worms that we encounter in our aquariums are harmless, with the exception of medusa, bobbit, anchor and flatworms. I've never encountered the worm that you're picturing above, but it looks like they're probably okay. If they're on the glass, then they're eating pods or algae. They're really too big to be a fish parasites and you would have noticed a decline in coral health if they were bothering them. A big reason that we keep wrasses, dottybacks, and hogfish in our aquariums is for pest control.
4. Dorvilleidae, a subspecies of bristle worms. From what I've read, that's as big as they get but still sting like other bristle worms.
5. Whose going to build your sump? Been thinking about an upgrade myself. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
6. Wasn't the same without ya! I stopped by to visit with friends and see all of the shiny things for sale. It's pretty hard to buy something when you have no idea what you want. A lot of great stuff though. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
7. Second from the door was @gig'em, third wasjolt, and fourth was a person from DFW not sure what his name was. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk

TDS

Transferring the pump from salt to fresh RO will show some TDS over time, that's happened to me before. There's also something referred to as "TDS creep" where refilling the RO resevoir over long periods without cleaning can result in a TDS reading.

TDS

Did you check the TDS of the ATO top-off or the display tank? If the reservoir gets any salt in it, then you'll get a TDS reading that doesn't accurately indicate nutrients. I would also warm against chasing phosphate. The PO4 test is largely unreliable and will not reflect the actual situation in the tank. Also, ULN is basically the keto diet of the aquarium world; aesthetics with the risk of death to keep things interesting. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
10. Cheeky Superman Rhodactus escaped the motherland and tried to form a new colony in a far away place! Found this little bugger in-between Acroland and Hammer Island. Guess he'll need a new home! Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
11. I'd give you two "likes" if I could, you're doing an amazing job with these corals! Is that a GARF Bonzai in the first picture with the Baby Blue Stag? I've always liked that color combination of blue and green. It's been awhile since I've seen one.
12. I'm not setting up a table, but I do have some frags if anyone is interested in trading for livestock or cash. Have: GSP, ORA Sour Apple Birdsnest, Atlantis Meteor Shower, WWC Bizzarro, ORA Tricolor Valida, Purple Stylophora, Jedi Mindtrick Montipora, ORA Elkhorn, JF Grape Juice. Looking for: A. Desalwii, Ultimate Efflo, Cali Tort, or Strawberry Shortcake. Also looking for a Naso Tang. PM if interested.
13. +1 tako. You'll have much less precip if you aerate the water and heat it to 76-78 before mixing. It also helps a lot if you mix the water over a period of time. I get almost no precip when extending the mix over 2-3 days, adding 1/8th or so at a time. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
14. Monthly water change today and took some pictures while the water was calm.
15. I remember every coral that I've gotten from you, but maybe it's a cousin! Here's a better picture.
16. I bought the T-5's to supplement my black box LED's and I saw improved coloration after the first week. I'm not sure if it was due to the increased PAR or something different offered through T-5 lighting. It seems like a lot of people have been supplementing with T-5 or going back to MH/T-5 entirely. Anyway, my canopy is too small for six fixtures and I didn't have enough space to do routine maintenance. Since I'm limited by the canopy, I decided to upgrade into some more powerful fixtures that take up less space. I thought about setting these on a new frag tank as well, but I wasn't able to talk my wife into it
17. Remaining corals went to the LFS on Saturday. Thank you everyone!
18. Posts updated. Remaining items will be available until this weekend.
19. Thank you for stopping by this weekend! Last item in this thread is the T-5 fixtures.
20. Clearing out the rack before it gets put up for awhile.
21. As of 2/21/19 the DFS website redirects to Petco and I'm super sad about it. I've been using Drs. Foster and Smith since they bought Petswarehouse in the 90's. I'm not keen on using Petco.com and it's definitely the end of an era.
22. I believe the Supreme Court ruled that states can tax online sales and every online purchase that I've made this year has definitely included taxes. It was little known that eBay did not charge tax giving it an advantage over Amazon and other retailers even when the price was the same. My eBay purchases from November did not included taxes, but my cart yesterday itemized taxes. LiveAquaria and DFS have charged taxes for at least two years. 23. The first year I ordered frozen food online was in 2018 following a particularly frustrating incident. That batch of 20 packages lasted me roughly 14 months, but the increased fish population will likely bring that down to a 11-12 month supply. This breakdown does not include sales tax because the local and online rates should be the same. Also, I estimated the LFS price per package based on what I remember paying for angelfish food in 2017 and the actual price today may be different.
