  1. I have a Euro-Reef RS180 on my 150 and a Vetex IN-100 on the 58. The Vertex was easier to set up (shut up Mark) and out skims my Euro-Reef. Price for the Vertex was considerable less.
  2. I have 1 large piece left of lime green with white rim monti cap. I would like this gone ASAP. . . PM me if interested. Thanks for looking. No trades Cash only first come first served. Monti Cap = $25.00 $20.00 MAKE ME AN OFFER! Monti 6"x2"
  3. Mine always seems to be a little gray (I mix mine for 2 days). I so mix mine 50 gallons at a time. It usually clears up in a couple of hours after the water change.
  4. Welcome, I have both in my tank.

  6. I could be wrong but. . . The light in the tanks are more directional than spread, plus the deeper the tank more of the light spectrum is absorbed. You could photograph the tank at a lower shutter speed to allow more light but the fish would just be blurs. Again I'm not sure this is correct but sound good to me.
  7. Any way to test the output side of the transformer with a meter.
  8. 14 to 20K bulbs and actinics. Lighting a FTS shoot is pretty hard due to low lighting. If you use a post processing software like photoshop you can usually fix the lighting issue.
  9. The fans are not wired in series.
  10. Yep, found them at Fishy Business and they were on sale!
  11. I have a 150 acrylic tank I reburbished (see my blog "The Saga of the 150"). The tank is very clear and light weight. Maintencance takes longer, I do every thing slowly in and around the tank. Scratching is an issue but I have only had to repair the tank once when I scratched it while using a fish trap. Did all the repair underwater and then did a 40 gallon water change.
  12. Very strange that all but one fan stopped working. I have 3 coralife fans in the canopy and a clip on fan on the sump. The sump fan works but the canopy fans don't. Unplugged each fan and tested on a know good extension cord and wall recpectcale and still don't work. I'm not sure if it's the fans or the transformers. How can I test to see if power is coming out of the transformer. I have a multi-meter. In the mean time I picked up 2 clip-on fans at Walmart. Hope they fit.
  13. The ever elusive cmannig tank. Looks like things are bouncing back. FYI, this pic does not do that tank justice!
  14. You can get a long handled dip net for about $6 at Academy.
  15. +1 and I wouldn't use the water for the same reason (to many containments).
  16. I have mine in the entertainment center (no room with the sump). I also run the effluent line to my return pump. Others run it up to the tank.
  17. Ric, I don't use reflectors and the Giesemann isn't bright enough. The UVL Super Actinic have a reflector built in. I have used them before but wanted give my business to a local fish store. . .
  18. Cool I'll give Shane a call later this morning.
