  1. Thanks @Timfish it wasn't an easy decision, and I know I will miss it for the time I am without.  Yes, my current plan is to have the long side displayed in my office so I can enjoy it throughout the day, the short side will be displayed in an open living area for others to enjoy, and then if they have more interest they can walk through a door and enjoy more of the tank.  Below is a rough plan.  A 4' deep (front to back) would be even better, but we'll have to see what I can swing when the time comes.

But need to find good homes for the current fish. ;)

  2. In preparing for a big move, I have made the very tough decision to sell my aquarium, equipment, and Livestock.  I will have a separate post for the equipment coming soon, as well as a coral for sale post.  These are the fish I have for sale (and shrimp).

All of my fish are very healthy, and in most cases, I purchased them when they were small and they have matured in my system.  I've also included the timeframe these animals have been in my tank, you can see they are all very well acclimated to aquarium life.  They have been fed, frozen food, seaweed, and pellets.  In most cases, they all readily eat all three types of feed.

SOLD Fish Size Asking $ Time in my tank
YES Goldflake Angelfish (Apolemichthys xanthopunctatus) Large/Show $599.99 > 4 years
      Gem Tang (Zebrasoma gemmatum) Xlarge/Show $1,399.99 > 4 years
      Purple Tang (Zebrasoma xanthurum) Xlarge/Show $599.00 > 4 years
Desjardini Sailfin Tang (Zebrasoma desjardini) Xlarge/Show $199.00 > 4 years
      Sohal Tang (Acanthurus sohal)  Xlarge/Show $749.99 > 2 years

Bella Goby (Valencienna bella) Xlarge $179.99 10 months
      Randall's Goby (Amblyeleotris randalli) Med/Large $99.99 1 year
YES Golden Midas Blenny (Ecsenius midas) X-Large $79.99 > 3 years
YES Flame Angelfish (Centropyge loricula) Large $149.99 > 2 years
Misbar Black & White Ocellaris Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris) - Male   $39.99 > 3 years

Yellowtail Blue Damselfish (Chrysiptera parasema) - 4 of these   $12.99 > 2 years
Onespot Foxface Rabbitfish (Siganus unimaculatus) Large $179.99 > 4 years
YES Heniochus Black and White Butterflyfish (Heniochus acuminatus) Large/Show $225.00 > 2 years

Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp (Lysmata amboinensis) Med $25.00 > 2 years
Blood Red Fire Shrimp (Lysmata debelius) Med $40.00 > 2 years
Blood Red Fire Shrimp (Lysmata debelius) Med $40.00 > 2 years

I have a fish trap in the system now so the fish are all comfortable eating food from it, for all but a few fish I believe that catching them in the trap will go pretty quickly, they like food, and they are comfortable with me, enough so that most of them will eat seaweed from my hand.  That said, it may take some time to catch some of the fish, I will do my best to get the fish out as soon as I can, if there are issues catching a fish I will communicate that directly with the buyer, and there may be some cases, the gobies come to mind, they may not get caught until I am ready to move rocks, that will NOT be until most of the fish are collected.

I'll work on posting some pictures, if you are interested in a fish and I have not posted a picture yet, please reach out and I'll do my best.

I will ONLY hold fish with cash or Paypal.  I live in Pflugerville, and I will not ship any fish.

  3. I've seen it called Aourt Apple Birds Nest, Toxis Green... you can call it what you'd like once it's in your TANK

I have a huge colony that is taking up too much space and shading other corals.  Currently, I have 3 pretty good-sized "frags" 4 to 5 inches across, and I need to cut a good bit more.  The large pieces I'm asking $25.  I'll cut as much as people would like, starting at $10 for a generous piece and we can go from there.  The entire colon is probably 2+ feet across, want the entire thing?  I'd be open to discussing that.

I'm open to trades, and feel free to make an offer I can't refuse ;)

I will ONLY hold with a paypal, please plan to come to my home to the frag and/or trade.  I live in Pflugerville.  I work from home so I have a lot of availability.  If you want em to cut some I can do it on a plug or not, your choice.

  4. I'm closing this post, when it got real about shutting the system down I had some really strong second thought about that action.  So at this time I'm going to keep it running, if I'm feeling the same way in a while, I'll repost things.  As for the BTAs, there were a couple people that expressed interest, I'll honor the price I posted at, and you'll be the first I contact when I got a couple off.

  5. Hello all, I'm both sad and happy to say that I am shutting my system down.  I'm VERY late getting this posting up.  It's just time, I lost interest in keeping things going some time ago, and as we all know this is not a hobby that you can let go ideal for long.  I would like all of the live stock gone by end of next week 1/27/2022 (Thursday) if possible.

My fish prices are not cheap, but they are very good prices for that you will get.  All of these fish are very healthy, have been in my 375g aquarium for at least 3 years some closer to 5.  So obviously, they are well past quarantine and and shipping shock you'd get online, or even in the local stores.

    Fish Price Size/Detail Available
Potters Angel $160.00 Large Spoken for
Yellow Belly Blue Tang $120.00 Medium Spoken for
    Gem Tang  $1,399.00 Large
    Goldflake Angelfish $550.00 Medium/Large
    Purple Tang $399.00 Large
Desjardini Sailfin Tang $199.00 Large / Xlarge Spoken For
Frostbite Clownfish $89.99 male size medium
    One Spot Foxface $199.99 Large

For now I'm going to hold off on selling any more BTAs and the Tiger Tails.  I got a few off some some people but I think it will be better to wait until all the fish are out, will make it easier and less stressful.  I'll post again in March as I'll be out of town all of February.  I'll still sell the fish if they can be picked up by Thursday of this week.  If not I'll relist them in March as well.

Rainbow BTA - I have a number of these, and I'll work them off as they are requested.  I am listing these pretty inexpensive, I'm sorry to those of you that have them  listed, I'm NOT trying to mess with your sale, I just need to empty my tank of all live stock ASAP.

Rainbow BTA $45 - First come first serve.  I'll remove the largest first, unless someone requests a smaller one.

I know I also have some Tiger Tail Sea Cucumber $20 each, I have at least 3 maybe more.

Paypal or cash ONLY, I will update this post with availability.

  6. I did a good bit of reading about fenbendazole treatments, and it seemed that in most cases shrimp lived, even smaller types, snails didn't, but that about serpent stars and even more of a concern tiger cucumbers.    I've heard that cucumbers can crash a system if they die.  I have GSP on my back wall, if it did die I wouldn't be too upset.

What did you experience @Jimbo662  Trying to remove the tiger cucumbers would probably be equivalent to taking all my rock out. :)  The ONE I added is at least 4 now.

  7. Understood on both accounts.  I have decided to not purchase this fish.  I have a okay sized frag area I could move a fish to if needed, but I have good fish harmony in the display now, so no need to upset that.

  8. I had one some time back that loved aphasia... not sure it eat any of the clove polyp, but maybe he was keeping it at bay, because at that point I did not have much at all...if any!?  Maybe I need to get another one.

  9. It's been so long since I've posted any updates.  Over the last couple years, I've really had a hard time keeping my tank parameters in a good place (as in other things have been the priority) to really keep many coral.  This I've had a large fish tank.  That isn't a horrible thing as I still find the aquarium very relaxing and I have some great fish.... but still not what my intention was when starting this system up.  So over the past several months I've been working to "automate" even more, to help keep everything in balance.  I've been doing an automatic water change, 5 gal/day, for a while now, have been good about not over feeding, etc. and with the help of a trident have a very good understanding of my dkh & Ca from day to day.  A few months ago I added a few "simpler" SPS, and they have been doing well.

I have an issue with what I've just learned is "clove polyp", thank you @victoly, so now time to try and deal with that.  I'll work on getting some pictures added in the near future.

  10. I need help and info on how to best deal with the below.  It's now all over my aquarium.  It's worse than GSP.  Ideally there would be a natural ways to remove it, but I'm open to most anything now. :)  What is this even called?

  11. Thanks Tim.  I want this guy, but, worried about my current stock.  I have a Gem Tang, Purple Tang, and Desjardini Sailfin tang, now.  They all have been in the take for a while together with no real issue, adding a fourth Zebrasoma is pushing it, even in an 8 foot by 3 foot tank.
