  1. Amen. Thank you Ian. The first order of business is to formally ratify the group's motto that was selected at last month's meeting: "In Phasmatis Aquarium Nos Fides" which of course is Latin for "In the Ghost Aquarium we do trust". Our second order of business is to open the floor to nominations for the group's theme song. I would like to throw out the first nomination for consideration: Burt Bacharach's beautiful ballad "Any Day Now". Preferably Elvis' version. Any other nominees...?
  2. If you could all be seated, I'd like to call the monthly meeting of the Followers of the 440g Custom Starphire Metal-framed Reef Dropoff Tank Thread (aka: The FC440CSMRDTT) to order. Ian will you lead us in the pledge...
  3. This thread is like a hidden room where us old salts can chat it up occasionally. I hope it is never deleted.

No one else thought that it would be weird and a total overstepping of personal boundaries to change another persons ARC status? HOW DARE YOU SIRS AND MAAMS.

The club does have suction cups. Contact Mike. I would do a combination of suction cups and hands just to be on the safe side.

  12. When posting a new topic, I now only have two buttons at the bottom of my post that says "Browse..." When I choose a file it doesn't give me any more options like it use to. I seem to remember after a picture uploaded, for example, there was a button that said something like "attach the file". I also tried clicking "Try our advanced uploader (requires Flash 9) but nothing happens. I updated my Flash to version 11 but nothing changed. Am I missing something? Thanks.
  13. Just need the reactor. I already have CO2 and regulator. Text or pm. Thanks. Richard 632-0375
  14. Hmmm, you guys are saying only an hour or two. You probably aren't using the appropriate number of bottles of glue and tubes of expoxy per frag ratio.
  15. I have a Super Reef Octopus XP5000. The construction is very good and in the sump it is super quiet. It is extremely sensitive to certain things like coral glue and epoxy putty. These things will make it overflow and takes a good 3-5 days of running carbon to get it to stop. I've only used one other skimmer so I don't know if this is common for all skimmers or just mine.
  16. Hmm, been doing some reading now I'm conflicted. Check these out: http://angel-strike.com/aquarium/GroundingProbes.html http://angel-strike.com/aquarium/GFI...alDetails.html
  17. I've had this on my list to add to my display tank for a long time now and Sherita's catastophic lost has finally got me off my butt to make it happen. I was able to negotiate a flat $15 for the Vertex grounding probe with Premium Aquatics provided we buy 12. They would be shipped free and you could pick them up at my house at your convenience. To keep things simple I'm only accepting advance payment with Paypal or you can pay me back if we have had financial dealings before. The Vertex probe is nice because it just plugs into any grounded outlet and instantly protects your tank from stray voltage. No wiring is required. Also, I believe if you plug it into a GFCI outlet any stray voltage would trip the outlet letting you know you have a problem. Link to see the probe: http://premiumaquatics.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PA&Product_Code=VX-PA-GPUS&Category_Code= My house: 7401 Filbert Cove, 78750 My Paypal: [email protected] Who's in? I'll be placing the order on Sunday at 5pm.
