  1. Just placed my order. We are for sure getting free shipping. Kim hasn't put in her order yet, but with that one, we should be at the 10% discount & moving toward the 15%. The way the discount is going to work: You place your order. Will sets aside your items and waits until Monday evening to send you an invoice. The order window closes Tue at close of business Cali time, but we should have a good idea what the total order amount will be Monday evening. He'll send out invoices with the discount we qualified for. If we somehow hit the next discount rate on Tue, he can adjust the bill, or throw in extras to compensate. As KimP said, pickup is at my house, which is at Slaughter and Manchacca. I'll post on the thread as soon as the items hit my door, and your welcome to come pick them up. I'll be working from home that day and be at the house the entire time.
  2. I can't speak directly for them, and you may want to contact them to clarify; but when I've inquired about it in the past, they said that any eBay item would incur the $50 S&H fee. If you purchased eBay items, any additional store bought items ship for free.
  3. Just got word back from Will regarding the discount. You'll place your order, and AquaSD will hold the payment request until Sunday. They'll send it out Sun or Monday, when they have a good idea what the discount will be, and your bill will reflect the discount. We'll easily qualify for the free shipping, so hopefully we'll also hit one of the discount price points.
  4. Ya, that sucks. Hope everything is ok. I had the jugs in the car so I could get some SW on the way home from work. But..... there is always tomorrow.
  5. Hi all A few people wanted to get an AquaSD order going, so I'll take the initiative and kick it off. The group order will begin today, and will run through the close of business (California time) Tuesday 8/16. Our combined order will ship the next day (Wed 8/17) & arrive at my house Thursday 8/18. I'll work from home that day and will be around to receive the package and people can swing by to pick up their goodies as soon as it arrives. I live in S. Austin @ Slaughter and Manchacca. I work in RR and am open to bringing something up N. the following day, but not sure you'd want your stuff sitting in a bag so long. The order is pretty simple. You peruse www.aquasd.com at your leisure, & order via the web or by calling them directly. Be sure to inform them that your order is part of the ARC group buy. At the end of the order window, they'll combine all the individual purchases and ship them in one package. Qualifying for free shipping shouldn't be a problem at all. When I talked to Will yesterday, he said that they do provide discounts for group orders. I sent him a pm asking him to clarify how it's applied, and will update the thread when I get an answer. Total purchase: $500 = 10% off order $750 = 15% $1000 = 20% Will & crew have always been very friendly and helpful, so don't hesitate to call or pm them if you have any questions or to place your order. I'm also available if you have any questions for me. -Jason
  6. That is, if rain doesn't evaporate in free fall or upon contact.
  7. You can also get in on the BRS group order and order directly from them. Get exactly the amount you want. There are a few other people ordering stuff, so you could probably split shipping if they didn't already qualify for free shipping.
  8. Very cool John. Glad you were able to take advantage of the group buy!
  9. Looks like it wants to be frag'd!
  10. I'm sure it won't be hard to get another group buy together. When I called yesterday, they said it would be about a month until they got some more in, but they don't know exactly, so it could be longer. If you want to start cycling the tank, you could always buy some of the eco rock to get it started. Depending on how you do it, it could be a 4-6wk process. May as well get it going sooner rather than later. Besides that, after the tank is established you can always sell the rock to make room for the Pukani and you'll have a cycled tank. Just a suggestion. Yep. Group buy is open. If anyone wants to get in on it, BRS will add you to the order if you'd like (while the group buy is on going 8/2-8/8).
  11. Ya, I was wanting to buy a bunch of that myself. I called them yesterday and they said it'll be about a month until they get more in.
  12. Paperwork for the BRS group order has been submitted. Everyone on the list should receive an email which opens the group buy tomorrow. If you don't receive it by the end of day tomorrow, shoot me a PM and I'll contact BRS. Thanks to everyone that signed up.
  13. Nice man. I've seen some pics of Blue Boobies full colonies & love em. Congrats on some nice pieces.
  14. Hi Brandon. I am very intrigued by your projects & the work you've done with these micro pico tanks. Do you have a web page or forum thread where you've documented this in more detail? Lights, circulation, water changes, sand bed, feeding, clean up crew, dosing etc. It's fascinating how the coral's have adapted to the micro environment and changed their normal behavior.
  15. Anyone else like to get in on this? I'll be submitting the paperwork around 11am Monday morning, so get your name in before tomorrow.
  16. Very interesting. I never thought about keeping a reef environment in such a small space. Congrats on your success.
  17. Short answer is yes. It really depend on how big it is. If your a decent size (diameter of a pencil or so), then gently separate it as close to the rock as possible. Then stick it in it's new location. It will re-attach itself within a couple days. Things to note. In my experience they are relatively hearty, but can be hit or miss. Some have relocated with no problems, others have not been happy and completely abandoned their tube. One took a while and build another one, one dissappeared completely. Generally they handle the move just fine. You should be prepared that the fanworm may not come out for a few days, even up to a week or so. I recently moved a tank and there was a loose tube. I wasn't sure there was even a worm inside. I gently squeezed it and it felt like there was something in there, but I wasn't sure. So just in case, I stuck it inbetween a couple rocks. I didn't see it come out, then one evening after the lights had been out a while, I looked & it was out. Couple days later it started coming out during the day. It doesn't hurt if feed your tank phyto, reefroids, oyster eggs, or some kind of filter feeding food. When I feed, all my fan worms pop out.
  18. We now have 10 members signed up for the BRS group buy, so we are in. If anyone else would like to join in, please send me your last name & the email you used to set up your BRS account. I will prepare the paperwork & submit it on Monday (8/2). Then what? Here is what will happen after your list is emailed to BRS: On the pre-determined Tuesday (8/3) each participant will receive an email notifying them that the Group Buy has started. Participants can start buying as soon as they get this email. Please wait for this email before placing orders! During the group buy week participants will login to their own account to place their own order, which ships immediately. At the end of the Group Buy each participant's account will be changed to Preferred Customer. BRS Preferred Customer pricing is generally between our retail and group buy prices. This permanent upgrade is our way of saying thanks for getting your reef supplies with us!
  19. Hi dsquared. Mindflux posted the original list, so I can't edit/update his post. I've got the list going & certainly have you down. Responded to your PM. Here is the official list. 1. Mindflux 2. wa1tx 3. dshel1217 4. KimP 5. Inland Reef 6. CapsAzN 7. dsquared 8. vwmike 9. wizardx322 10. juiceman 11. rprew 12. miasma We now have the 10 members required for the group buy! We can easily add more, Anyone need something from Bulk Reef Supply?
  20. A group order would be ideal as we'd get the group discount. Another incentive is that each individual that participates on the group buy, automaticlly becomes a "preferred" customer and gets that discount on all future individual orders. Each order is shipped directly to your address, so you don't need to coordinate pickups. If we can't get 10 people to go in on ARC, then i can throw this out there on some other forums. Anyone else need something from BRS???
  21. I was considering seeing if there was enough interest in a group order. I know one other person that needs some BRS goodness.
  22. I'll let it grow out and give it to someone looking for a frag when the time comes. I can't wait to give back something to the community that has helped me so much! That's awesome man. It's what makes this community a great one to be a part of. I've also been impressed and very happy to see the spread of aqua culturing. As an avid diver, it breaks my heart knowing that our reefs are being plundered for a hobby. It was one of the moral dilemmas I had when I was in the hobby many years ago. I'm proud to say that the two tanks I started up and been stocked with captive raised corals only.
  23. Depends on what you want. If you want one big colony, right now; then leave it alone and see if it fuses together. If there is no base to stabilize it, then it may break away anyways. If you want to have two separate colonies, or you want to trade/sell it, then move it to it's own plug. If your tank is doing good, and it's happy, then it'll grow relatively quick. So it'll either heal up pretty quick, or you'll have a good sized frag in short order. Personally, I'd break it off and make a new frag out of it. You'll have more options in the long run.
