  1. My Traci let me play with her big camera tonite. It can take pretty good pics if you know what you are doing. I do not! most were so out of focus they were worthless but a few were visable. In the coming weeks I am going to figure out how to turn off the flash and set the timer so the camera doesnt move when you snap a shot. well, here they are
  2. you are probably correct. Do you have a pic?
  3. I like that filter set up you have there! As long as it is functioning properly and you are maintaining it(not letting it clogg and bypass) I would keep it. I would not do too much at once as far as disturbing detritus and what not( you dont want a big nutrient spike). I would definately take a shop vac or something and remove as much detritus as you can from the sump during your next water change. Then in the coming weeks slowly look at the tanks set up and work on areas that may be collecting crud due to lack of flow rockscape packed too tight ect
  4. + 1 on what acropoorer said. no need to dissassemble tank, dip or poison. They really arent harmful. However they do seem to thrive where there is an abundance of crud and no natural predator present. I would 1st look at the way the tank is set up and try work on areas that trap detritus, low flow ect.And 2nd I would try a predator like the chromis dale mentioned. I use a green wrasse (he is a killer). I tried a six line in the past(its what everyone reccomends) he wasnt much of a hunter.

  8. I accidently on pourpose left a piece of that in my unlit sump for at least 6 months.I found it the other day ALIVE . Must have been enough light passing thru my bb. needless to say this coral is very hard to kill.I gave up trying to ignore it to death an gave it a nice spot in the display
  9. Wooa!!! I would be afraid that dude was a blue ring or just plain bite the heck out of my hand.
  10. That is a really awsome pic!!
  11. 3 days with no light will knock it down pretty good. It will come back though if you dont correct the excess nutrient problem. I was dosing vodka and got a nice growth going . I stopped the vodka but the cyano remained? 3 days with no light took care of it and it hasnt come back. I havent resumed the vodka because the nitrate problem I had hasnt come back either.
  12. has not set their status

  13. Hey Ty , it was really cool havin you guys over, Sorry if I talked yer ear off. I dont get out much. No worries Alex , I got you
  14. Hey Ty, That mongo green coris wrasse you saw in my tank this weekend ate all of the flatworms, zoa eating nudis and pyramid snails I had in my tank many years ago.I had em all. I got him when he was barely 1"long. I got him and a six line at the same time. The six line ignored the nudis and died after about 3 weeks. The green guy got to work big time and I havent seen any of the three pest listed above since and that was probably 5 years ago.
  15. I saw this tank the other night and I must say it is the nicest most thought out tank I have ever seen, storebought or otherwise.Dale has mad skills. Now if I could just convince him to build me one too
  16. Hey Junior, congrats on the new baby! Nice meeting your bro too.
  17. I just tried out my new inland diamond bandsaw, well For the last 5 hrs anyways. I really wish that I had purchased one a loooong time ago. If anyone was thinking about getting a diamond bladed bandsaw definately do so. This thing rocks. I cant stop. Please, someone take this thing away from me before I try to frag a fish or something.
  18. I allready know I am crazy, No need reminding me. Hey fishy pets, dont forget to post some pics for us after that bad boy lands. Did you get any other chalices from soccerbag?
  19. So you are the lucky dog that got that from soccerbag!! I was toooo slooow. I hear the multi colors dont come in until the colony gets about 3" or so. Try to resist the temptation to frag it so you get to see it in all its glory. I would love to see some growth /progression pics as it matures.
  20. I work in round rock mon-fri 8-5. I would like to stop by sometime to look at your fishes. 512 924 2064
  21. I would also do 2 fixtures. 1 72 incher is going to be a whopper. I think it would be easier to do bulb maintenence cleaning and what not. Also with 2 you will still have lights if 1 croaks and you have to send back for warranty service.
  22. Where did it go. I usually answer thru my email notification. I cant seem to find my pm list thru this site?
