I accidently on pourpose left a piece of that in my unlit sump for at least 6 months.I found it the other day ALIVE . Must have been enough light passing thru my bb. needless to say this coral is very hard to kill.I gave up trying to ignore it to death an gave it a nice spot in the display

3 days with no light will knock it down pretty good. It will come back though if you dont correct the excess nutrient problem. I was dosing vodka and got a nice growth going . I stopped the vodka but the cyano remained? 3 days with no light took care of it and it hasnt come back. I havent resumed the vodka because the nitrate problem I had hasnt come back either.

Hey Ty, That mongo green coris wrasse you saw in my tank this weekend ate all of the flatworms,zoa eating nudis and pyramid snails I had in my tank many years ago.I had em all. I got him when he was barely 1"long. I got him and a six line at the same time. The six line ignored the nudis and died after about 3 weeks. The green guy got to work big time and I havent seen any of the three pest listed above since and that was probably 5 years ago.

I just tried out my new inland diamond bandsaw, well For the last 5 hrs anyways. I really wish that I had purchased one a loooong time ago. If anyone was thinking about getting a diamond bladed bandsaw definately do so. This thing rocks. I cant stop. Please, someone take this thing away from me before I try to frag a fish or something.

I would also do 2 fixtures. 1 72 incher is going to be a whopper. I think it would be easier to do bulb maintenence cleaning and what not. Also with 2 you will still have lights if 1 croaks and you have to send back for warranty service.

One gallon jugs of kents tech m arent very expensive and last quite awhile since mag doesnt need to be dosed very often. Epsom salt MIGHT work just fine and be completely harmless but why risk it when the Kent product is proven safe and effective and really not that expensive when ordered on line by the gallon.

Update: all bubble gum monsters are spoken for 3 miami hurricanes left. price drop on moseleyas , have 3 huge chunks $40 small sunset sold, price drop on 2 large sunset monti frags $50 neon green brains gone 3 war coral favias left pastel war and peace favias price drop $40 setosa gone Anyhow, feel free to make offers as I would like to clear these out especially the moseleyas because the frags are huge and I need the room for my new arrivals.Interesting trades excluding acropora encouraged.

are they mobile? I thought they just sat there . I was tempted to buy one from dfs but wasnt sure how they did in captivity.have you had yours long and where did you get it?

I am also running coralvue ballasts,dimmable. And run a 5hr mh photoperiod. and 2 36" T5 giesemann actinic+ for 12hrs for viewing when I get home. I would love to add a strip of the fiji purple. I just need to figure out how to make em fit up there. I have also been looking into the power brite style led's for some extra pop while viewing in the eve.

Interesting. Are you using 250's or 400w. Keep me posted on your opinion of growth and color down the road with the 10k reeflux.I really expect the same type of improvements in my tank just because the 20k ushio's I just replaced were almost 2 years old.
