  7. I'm not sure to be honest.I would guess about a month. Time to let any eggs hatch that passed thru the dipping process and even more time for observation is needed before you can truely deem something pest free.
  8. dipping is good and all but if you are not quaranteening afterwards you might as well not bother dipping as the only nasties I can think of that there isnt a in tank solution for lay eggs that are not affected by dipping.(monti eating nudis/acro eating flatworms).
  9. It was nice meeting you guys today, glad you like your new addition. I would love to build one of those lights your hubby built someday.Too cool! Sounds like you might be due for a bigger tank here pretty soon.
  10. your welcome, I look foward to meeting you someday.
  11. anytime Kev, it was good talking to ya.
  12. Power brights are another brand that I have read positive reviews on. They use 1 watt led's also, however they only have 4 bulbs per bar. You can link up th three bars together I was going to go that rought at 1st but went with the finnex 9 bulb bars instead .
  13. I have 2 finnex 1 watt bars and 2 coral sky cree led 3watt bars. The best bang for the buck is the finnex. I got my finnex at aqua cave and the coral sky units at world wide corals(They claim to use 6 of them on their show tank ). There is another one out called reef brights that are getting really good reviews they use underdriven 3 watt led's and are priced in between the finnex and the coral sky's(more twards the coral sky's). those are backordered at premium aquatics. You are welcome to come by and see what they look like. People that have seen the finnex in action liked them alot.
  14. I would try a blue led bar if you are just looking for more pop.
  15. Hey Mark, I have 1 premade frag of the raptors rainbows left . I can count at least 5 polyps, it was originally cut as a two polyp frag so it has grown.I was asking $75 for that 1. If you would like a smaller frag I could make you one. I only have about 15 or so polyps of the pink zippers colony but there are 3 polyps not connected to the colony on the rock they are growing on that would be pretty easy for to snag. If you wanted both I could do $100 total.
  16. Danny treated me pretty good.Ha ha. He still had a bunch of really nice corals left after I got done raiding his tank. I still hope he changes his mind about taking it down cause its very beautiful. Just say the word and I will knock a chunk off of the ppe chalice/favia thing.I need to update this darn thread and It wont let me edit the 1st post and do the highlight thing with whats still left.Too embarrassed to ask for my gf's help
  17. I have several favias, some frags some colonies. Some higher end some common. most on the cheap since I scorched them a little with my new so called 20k flamethrower halide bulbs. I have some acans that are frying too. Geez those bulbs are bright
  18. My moseleya pic didnt work above. Heres the monster before I took the frags off of her. Still huge even after fragging. And indestructable. It doeast like acans though, unless they are for dinner

  24. I would start with the light pretty high up and just keep an eye on your corals. You might even want to run it for 5hrs or less the 1st few weeks.
