p.s. For some reason I am not able to go back to my other posts and add/remove pictures. Is this a premium member benefit only?
Yes, its a prem member thing. Cmon join the cult...ooP's I meant "club" lol

On the MP10, if you crack the front spiral, it will possibly vibrate a lot. I got my first MP10 and it was not packaged well. It looks like someone crammed the wet side in the cavity in the box. I superglue'd it but it was noisy. Marine Depot sent me a new one free of charge. On the 40+ the spiral doesnt matter since the fan is bolted to the magnet assembly and essentially uses the magnetic poles to keep alignment. You will need to replace the bushing in them probably every couple years.

Welcome. Sounds like your approaching this the right way. I have always liked the butterflies...but I also like zoas and SPS...

So jump up to a 40g breeder on the dollar per gallon sale and you can have a mated pair of dwarf blue whales in there. They can sing you to sleep at nights. Have to be careful though, if they do breed you may need to jump up to a 55g or so.

If you really want to kill this stuff. Remove everything. Fill the tank with tap water. Pour in about 2-3 gallons of vinegar. Let it run for a few days (pumps running ect...) then pour it all out and fill with RO/DI ect.
BOIL THE ROCK. Putting it in the garage isnt going to kill it completely, this stuff is determined and even 2 weeks of no sunlight it will still have enough traces to come back. Litteraly, take a turkey fryer out in the back yard or somewhere and BOIL the rock for about an hour. Do not boil it in an enclosed area also..you will get sick.
I fought this stuff for months. Tried everthing I could find on the net. The voldka...the super high PH, raising MG, dosing peroxide, 2 weeks black out (complete black out). Manual removal. Phosban changed every 4-5 days running non stop and a TON of it. ROX Carbon changed every 3 days. Hell I even let it run its course in hopes of it eating all the nasties out the water and die'n....nope. I stopped all water changes and that helped but at the first change it would explode again.
Also for your corals, peroxide dip them in 3% solution. The corals will be pissed but it will kill the dinos at that level. SPS and clams will not take the peroxide so you may want to part with them completely....

Do not dose anything you dont test for.
Brian already stated this but its the most important part of this hobby till your tank is seasoned. Also, dont panic when your levels are not "prime", corals can adjust to a very wide range of parameters.
Using a prem salt mix like RSCP or Coralife should be sufficient. Instant oceans reef crystals is also an underestimated salt. Ive had the best luck with it.

Sailfins are supposedly able to fend off ich better than most. At least thats what Ive read and been my experience. I had a sailfin and then got a blue hippo....week later the hippo had ich bad. He had it for months, my sailfin never showed signs and always ate and stayed active.

I will add that this was not at one of our sponsor's shops.

Weird, I called them yesterday and was told they dont get mahi or wahoo very often lol. Oh well guess its hit or miss. Thanks for the info yall.
-
A few of them are $125 total order gives free shipping. Otherwise its $25 flat rate shipping to start. Im looking at ordering probably 2lbs of yellowfin, mahi, sword, and wahoo so should make the free shipping mark. I found another vendor that will do 4lbs of mahi (8ea 8oz steaks) for right at $100.

I called central market and they dont get what Im asking for very often. They always have albacore and salmon, but Im not after those. Well maybe some pacific salmon. Im probably going to order some mahi and ahi tuna steaks. They offer "fresh" and frozen. Not much price difference. Next day 10am delivery guaranteed from most of them. I see marlin is very difficult to get...

Has anyone here ordered any seafood online and if so what has been your experience? Im looking to order some mahi, yellow fin tuna, swordfish, wahoo, and C. bass. Ive never ordered any online so hoping some of yall can recommend a vendor. I'd like to get something a little more exotic but finding a retailer that for these items is difficult to say the least. I see there are some out of Hawaii though.

My old lever meter was off by .003ppm when I first got it so I marked it at 1.025(where I ran my SG). I dropped it a couple times getting in and out of the stand ect....next time I checked it, it was .006ppm off.....
In short, get a refractometer, much more dependable.
Also with a smaller volume of water, I would think that any change in the SG by adding RO water would be amplified DUE to the small amount of water in the DT compared to larger tanks. Like adding 10 gallons of fresh water to a 300g tank.....doesn't do squat but add 10g of fresh water to a 20g tank and see what happens.....

Bring more than one case of beer, ferry gets backed up around noon...and especially on Sundays...

I recommend you use one of your feed modes for a temporary "ON" situation instead of running the manual ON.
You can adjust your light outlets as below to accomplish this:
If FEED X Then ON
Whereas X is either A/B/C/D (whichever feed mode you dont use).
Then adjust the time for the feed mode to whatever minute interval you want to use. Once you select feed D from the display or cell phone app, then lights will come on for whatever time you have chosen for the Feed mode. Once this time expires, programing goes back to normal.
I used Feed B as my "maintenance mode" where as I do water change and clean skimmer out. I just did a water change and cleaned skimmer, and timed it. I then added 10 minutes for a buffer just in case.
