    WANNA BE REEFER

Most important ingredient in this hobby, patience. Just so happens to be the most difficult to come by when you see fellow reefers setups that look so great!

    WANNA BE REEFER

Welcome to the ARC! As for your plethora of critters, if your going to run a reef then you will most likely have to give the Choco star away. From what Ive heard they can be coral munchers. Also, with that many damsels, there may be some fighting going on in there as well. What kind of nem do you have?
  3. Hmm not sure I like the new look of the site

  4. Dang we need some rain!! What gives??

I think Mother Nature is running an experiment on Central Texas.

  5. Thought you just bought on a month or two ago.
  6. If the price is right, I may get this from you and repair it. Ive replaced glass before so not that hard. Guitar string, heat gun, razor blade and a lot of patience.
  7. I built transmissions for 7 years. It is a very labor intensive process and the parts have gone up considerably due to materials costs. Bushing and the like are brass or copper and both of those have skyrocketed. Average rebuild, labor+parts on an automatic is $1,500-$2,500 depending on the vehicle. If its foreign, you could double that.
  8. If you part out, Im interested in the sump.
  9. +1 Smaller tanks its not too bad of a problem, but larger tanks with long front displays or very tall displays, and your just asking for problems down the road. Unless you can pull the pane, and clean off all the silicone and re-apply silicone to the surface edge of the joining glass, there would be no true "structural bond"

    9lb live rock

ok, not trying to be a pain, but are you posting all your rock individually? Just seems a bit redundant to me.
  11. Apparently you have dealt with him before. I was referring to the bigbird part.
  12. Well if you want to part with him, let me know. Ive been looking for one but they are high as a cats *ss at the LFS's As for coral, Im assuming you have some SPS. Ive read they like to munch on them a bit.
  13. 3 zebra damsels 1 blue hippo 1 sailfin tang 1 firefish goby 1 royal dotty Is he a meany? Im going to part with the damsels though. My tangs are pretty laid back.
  14. Nah...You'd just kill it, I gave it to BigBird instead This struck me funny....
  15. Ok not trying to hijack this thread, but figured no sense in starting a new one given the subject and plethora of information in one thread. Im seeing it again as well. The snails and tangs had mowed it down but now its coming back worse. Running GFO, replaced all of my bulbs with ATI. Params below Phosphates 0 Ca 520 (currently dosing purple up) Ph 7.9-8.0 Sg 1.026 Temp 76-77f Light time: 12pm-10pm(2ea blue +), 3pm-8pm(purple+/aqua blue spl) amo/nitrates/nitrites: 0 No filter sock, wet skimming seems to work well. Going to do a 15g water change tonight. My alk was really low so Im adding some buffer to get it up since even water changes are not enough to keep my alk up. I figured with Ca being so high, my pH would be lower (prior to buffer). I was running carbon for a couple weeks and that seemed to help. My RO unit is showing 4ppm tds now. Not sure thats right though since the unit is only about 5 months old and maybe had 200g through it. It shows tds even when there is no water flowing. I took the probe out and cleaned it then it shows 0 but then 4 when water starts moving both in/out of membrane/DI resin. Also, My blue hippo has ich so Im trying to minimize what steps are taken and trying to let this level out on its own since Im dealing with a couple problems at once. Based on the params and light cycle, what would you guys suggest as the first step?
  16. Looking for one, n e 1 got one they want to part with north of the river?

    ICK

Interesting, my BHT has ich but none of my other fish. She is still happy and eating every time I feed and picking at the rock in my tank. I dont have a quarantine tank but should have my bowfront up and running in the next week or so. I have a sailfin as well and he has shown no signs of ich and none of my other tank inhabitants do either. First sight of it on my BHT was about 3 weeks ago. I fed her the seaweed with garlic and the white spots turned into little grey/black spots, appear to be scars.
  18. How much ya want for the reefkeeper?
  19. +100! Ive got 4 of them the size of golfballs, they cleaned my tank up QUICK but knocked everything over in the process. Also, I added a couple tangs to take care of the hair algae. Water params? How long lights on? Sand bed disturbed? Any MIA livestock? What type of lights and how old?
  20. Ok, here is a question then. Since the nem was to be a GBTA, but is pink (both 1A and 1B), what are the chances of it just being pink and no just missing their pigment? I wanted a Green BTA. It has a super slight shade of green in it under actinics but its hard to see. Mainly pink and bubbly...
  21. Ok. I bought a GBTA (no green? who knew) on here 2 weeks ago. Put it in the tank and it moved maybe 6 inches or so to the underside of a rock, then extended its column enough for the head to reach the light and then bubbled up nicely. I came home friday after work and found this. Been feeding it little bit less than half a silverside every couple days or so. Guess mine is the case of happiness
  22. either India or east Austin. East Austin is north of the river for you so you should try India. HAHAHAHA! I feel the same way about going south of the river!
  23. I was under the impression they split when they are happy, not mad.
