its a mag 12 and its still not cranked open 100%. Same pump ive had. i would say maybe 90%. I had the overflow dialed in with a ball valve on top but it was too big so thats why i went out and bought a few caps and started drilling. It wasnt making bubbles then. Ive noticed its starting to calm down some. Well if my baffles are backwards i dont think im going to change them anytime soon. I thought i did sufficent enough research before i built it. I will try to find the thread from reef central that i got the idea from.

im starting to think something is loose in my return line plumbing and its sucking in air. heres my sump. I got the dimesions from a reef central and the design. My water lvl is a tad high. Ive had this sump almost 4 months never had any bubbles...

its drilled... probly cant see it well. but i already posted it was drilled. i had to make it small to keep up with my pump

Im having some issues with my overflow. My overflow is in the corner with 1 drain and 1inch pipe plumbing. It took me forever to get my mag 12 and my overflow to work together. I had to drill 10 different caps to make it work and the hole is very small. the hole isnt much bigger than a nail. Now that im able to maximize my pump and overflow correctly. Im having issues with micro bubbles everywhere in my tank. It didnt start until i messed around with the overflow. Now my return lines are constantly shooting out micro bubbles and there all in my sump and passing through my 3stage baffles. My current overflow is setup with a 1 inch "T" and a 90 facing down on the side of the "T" and a cap with a small hole to let air in. I dont know to do and im starting to get bubbles forming on my rocks... help! lol

says u cant recieve msgs... I have a 55gallon i just took down and it has a diy screen up top i used to keep jumpers out and the simliar stand i got from walmart.

im going for a mixture look im not certain if im going to stick to one certain kind. I like lps/softies for the nice flowing effect and theres certain sps i enjoy too. I feel like my t5's are sufficient enough and my fixture claims by reefgeeks it will dominate sps up to 30inches deep. If i keep the sps up top and the lps at the bottom i was hoping i would be ok. I bought my ati for the reasoning of knowing i would upgrade. Ive just noticed that every person's house i go to they have vho's to compliment there t'5s or mh's. I just like the look they give. Is there a cheap/efficient way to promote the "shimmer effect" without buying expensive led's or mh;s?

well the more i see vhos the more i like and from what i see it seems there becoming extinct. I looking for something to compliment my t5's and i was curious about adding some vho's. I heard ice cap ballast are the way to go, but someone said today they went out of business. How far can vho's penatrate in water and still be effective? Right now i have a 120gallon wide... i have a ati t5, 6 bulb setup (48inch) sitting in my canopy. my tank is almost 24inches wide so i have alot of room on each side for more lighting. I was pretty much told today that my t5's werent efficient enough and wouldnt grow corals and just cause more complaints. Im not sure if i agree with that but i think maybe the vho's may compliment the t5's and maybe if not happy down the road i can remove the fixture and add some mh's. Im really looking for some help and a few idea about what i have so far.... I was thinking about having 2-4 bulbs of vhos and im curious if i would need the 430 or 660 ballast. I read what each ballast is capable of, but im really looking for peoples thoughts and experience. thanks Jerrad

in about a week or so im going to transfer my fish to my new tank... About 5 weeks ago a couple of the fish had iche and i treated it and it went away.... they have been in a quaratine tank for almost 6 weeks. Everything seems clear. I want to make sure they dont bring anything over to the new tank. Can i do like a 5 min freshwater dip or maybe a low salinity dip? I know freshwater dip would cause more stress but would it be more beneficial in the long run? I've never done freshwater dip but i have noticed customers at fish stores request it before they purchase a fish. Any Ideas?

yah im just gonna use mine for a backup heater, light timer, and maybe a wave maker if it works. and standby mode for feeding... I was trying to simplify my tank before i head to jrotc and also iraq... guess im not doing a very good job

i probly shouldnt of updated it either... but i read that the new 2.0 firmware was awesome, but!.......... people were having problems with the temp jumping everywhere and not staying accurate. I did notice the whole 5mins i had mine working my temp probe read over 100 degrees when its 70 degress in my house but im sure u can calibrate it.

yah im gonna call aquacave tomorrow... just stinks,, got my new tank up and ready for it. Im sure it will be taken care of but being patient is something i lack. Probly be 2 weeks or more to get a working one... I'll probly have to send this back... wait for it to get there so they can send me another....

got my reek keeper lite from aquacave and hooked it up to my pc and updated it. and play with it for a few mins.. I noticed the outlet supply control block or whatever u call it started making noises so i turned it off. when i turned it on it kept blinking and then it shut off. now it doesnt work and im out of a reek keeper... 1 christmas present down...

im trying to find something to order but everything i need is out of stock....

ill have to remember where i got mine.... i didnt even pay half that..... i think im going to mod mine soon and add the mesh to it.
