  1. It has been quiet. Maybe some people are letting the changes get finished before they get going again.
  2. What part of town are you in? I might be able to swing by this evening and help you. Call me at 657-5472
  3. Cool. I am glad it is doing good.
  4. I don't QT either. I have had some success with heavy feeding and soaking the food in Garlic extract. I have had a couple fish kick the Ich and a couple just plain kick it, so take that however you want. Of course, the 2 I lost to Ich were both Tangs.
  5. This was the first Acro I ever bought. It was brown at first too.
  6. Depends on how much you want to spend. I used regular 2x4s and sheeted it with Blond wood from Lowe's. Blond wood resembles Maple but is only about $25 for a 4x8' sheet.
  7. When you are ready to actually start plumbing let me know I could probably come and help. For bending acrylic I use a propane torch. Works great but you have to keep it moving or it catches fire.
  8. I thought you couldn't drill tempered glass. My tank had a sticker that said "Bottom is tempered glass. Do not drill!!!" Other than that the stand idea sounds great. It is always a good idea to make things upgradeable if possible. Talk to John at Kingfish about the T5 light fixtures.
  9. vinegar is good for cleaning the glass. Or just use a razor blade and water. Acrylic is different. They make plastic scrappers for acrylic.
  10. Rob - pm me a pic and I will replace it. Joseph - it was nominated so I put it up. If it wins it will be out of the running for awhile.
  11. RCA nano Andrew Joseph (see other thread for more pics) Mike Rob
  12. Sure. I never heard back from yellowroush so I still have that one. If he still wants one I can get another. PM me your number.
  13. Try a trap with a long piece of fishing line so you can watch from a distance. It may take a day or two of just leaving it in the tank until he gets used to it.
  14. How big is the new tank? The sand will be the tricky part. Personally I would buy new sand and seed it with a few cupful's of your old sand. If you use all cured live rock you should have very little in the way of a cycle. I would still keep an eye on it though after the switch and test parameters daily. Have new water ready to do a water change if levels get too high. HTH
  15. The tangs ate the piece I put in the display, but the rest is doing great in the Fuge.
  16. Yeah. I use Rowaphos in a 2 little fishies reactor.
  17. I would think a phosphate media would help as well.
  18. Sorry for your losses. I have never had it happen personally but I did read a thread on RC that had a similar situation. You can't really blame the store. They had no way of knowing just like you didn't. I don't usually QT either but that would have prevented it.
  19. I think a spider reflector would work better and I think you can get them for about $20 a piece with the mogul base.
  20. I have decent frag of this purple Monti I will sell for $15.
  21. Brian I would like to come by today if possible. I would like the little nano and an aqualifter. I am also itching to see that tank full! YGPM
  22. I am pretty sure I know which store you are talking about. I had one last year because I bought a skimmer and it made sense with the discount I was getting. However, the store has since changed ownership and their prices have sky-rocketed. Also there tanks are in a pretty sad state usually. I still go there for Bird supplies but not fish.

I am a TM user too. I started out with IO but after switching will never go back. I have had better growth and no more problems with Cyano or nuisance algae. I had the opportunity to talk at length with the TM rep at MACNA last year. After hearing all the research and the philosophy of the company I was hooked even more.
