I use both. I feed a cube of mini mysis first and my own mix later.

I feed twice a day with no ill consequences. Anthony Calfo said the best SPS food is fish poop. Of course you have to skim well and do water changes often if feeding heavy.

The thing is Joseph is that even though your Iodine and supplement dosing has worked for you, someone may read that and then overdose their tank. That is why Brian stated to never dose something you can't test for. It is best to make sure that any advice you give is something that is tried and true. Otherwise put a disclaimer on it.

I use a filter sock in my sump. I like it because it catches so much of the excess crap floating around. Make sure you clean it often or it will turn into a Nitrate factory. I just turn mine inside out and throw it into the washing machine on cold with no soap.

I would go to Home Depot or Lowes and look at pendant light fixtures and use those curled PC bulbs. No heat and low energy consumption.

I know I get shimmer lines from my LED moon lights. You might try mixing several white LEDs with some NO fluorescents. I am not sure if the fluorescents would overpower the LED shimmer or not.

I have heard that Brain corals will fade under too much light. Maybe it is the same for other LPS.

Watch your parameters very closely while in QT and Hypo treatment. They can go south very quickly with no rock or sand in the tank.

The gel takes a while to set. So maybe you are putting the water back in before it gets hard. They make an accelerator that you can put on a surface before the Gel to make it set faster.
