  9. Andrew, Thank you for having us over to your house. Seeing your tank is always impressive. Bob, Thank you for speaking about mantis shrimp. The conversation was great. I will be posting the video next weekend.
  10. Welcome to the club. that is a haus of a tank. there are other members here that have bricks as well.
  11. 75 Gallon. Don't look back. We have a 75 sump on our FOWLR and it is great. If you wanted you could use the plumb the 30 in has a frag/prop tank or fuge.
  12. Your welcome. I am glad I could clear some things up. I am sure by answering the questions you had I created twice as many unanswered ones. Feel free to ask the new ones. That lighting should definately be enough for a 72 gallon.
  13. I used every trick in the book to rid the tank of cyano. Nothing worked. In the fuge the lights actually caused more cyano.
  14. I have learned a lesson on lighting the hard way. I refused to buy "expensive" compact florescent bulbs when I could buy MUCH cheaper ones at certain internet venders. Whne I got these bulbs they looked great. I told everyone about them. I asked people why they would pay twice as much for the same product with a name brand. I said they were just as good as any other. Boy was I wrong. They intially went over my custom 20 gallon. Corals started growing well, but so did the cyano. I tried my best to remove phosphates(which tested 0), ran carbon, almost bought a skimmer. Finally, I decided just to set-up another tank. In the new tank I am using high quality T5s and have almost no cyano(one spot that held over from the 20, it seems to be getting better). So now I had this CF lighting set-up that I wasn't using. Well I decided to use it over the fish only fuge. Before I was using some NO florescents. There were a few spots of cyano, but not that bad. This morning I checked the fuge and OMG with the CF lights the entire fuge is covered with red slime. I am not happy. Now I have to figure out a different lighting solution. Moral(as I see it): buy good bulbs it will save you money and heartache.
  15. Light light is wicked cheap. There are tons of cheap lighting solutions out there. However, From your original post it seems like you have more then enough equipment to light your tank. I will give you a call this morning after I clean some tanks. BTW using super cheap bulbs leads to heartache.
  16. If I could have voted twice I would have. The Coralife 1 watt moonlight RULES. I like it better then any DIY solution I have done.
  17. bumpskies for a good deal on a GREAT skimmer!
  18. 400 was what I found as well. American was the cheapest even though ATL is a Delta hub. I have driven to Atlanta straight before. It took almost 17 hours. I don't think I am up for it again. I was surprised by the price. It only cost me $250 to fly to California.
  19. Let me check tonight and get back.
