  1. That's what I do. Feed them a little more than usual and soak everything in garlic.

    Octopus

That is tooooo cool. I don't know anything about octopi. Are the eggs something that will hatch and able to raise in captivity? I could google it but I'm sure you've already done some research.
  3. I hope this is true because I already ordered a custom made 5 gallon display and a 2.5 gallon sump. Please let me know if this is acceptable. I thought it was said, before this thread, up to 5 gallons with a sump no bigger than 1/2 of display.
  4. It has still been happening for me last time about a hour ago
  5. Maybe it's because he didn't think of the idea. I don't see much from the mods on this site anyway. I'm sure I will see this post deleted though.
  6. That is the bad thing about zoas. They just melt sometimes for no reason. For me, I have found the best thing to do is just leave them alone. The more you move them, the more stressed they become. I've had some close up for a week and open back up looking brighter and better than they did before. That's not always the case though.
  7. I thought this was the point of the contest. To be able to maintain a small system without relying on high dollar equipment and really testing your husbandry and reef keeping abilities. There are tons of people who cant afford a apex and can keep a system just fine. If you cant afford what you need, you shouldnt be joining the contest anyway. No offense. Im not trying to argue at all and I hope I dont ruffle any feathers but I thought this was the whole point of the contest.
  8. You should have to budget for timers. That is part of this being a independent system and not fair for the people having to budget for it.
  9. I wont be around the weekend of C4 and wouldnt want to break down my system and set it back up only to break it back down and set it up again, anyway. If this is going to be the case im out.
  10. +1 to this... Mods...can ya give us a hand? +2 Sent from my Galaxy SIII which is cooler than your phone. +3 +4
  11. I'm in and got my tank ordered. It's gonna be awesome!!! 4.9 gallons
  12. Bristle worms are good to go. Fire worms are a different story.
  13. BTW, I had a black ice pair about 3 years ago when they first came out. I had them about a year before I had a accident with my hand in a table saw and spent 8 days in the hospital. I came home to a crashed tank and dead fish. My mom and aunt was supposed to be taking care of the tank. I really loved those guys and they were the prettiest clowns I've ever had.
  14. Me too. I love my platinum and naked. I was hoping they would pair up but they have been together for about 6 months and still sleep in separate places. I would love to get into breeding someday when I have more time.
  15. Mine were so overpopulated on some live rock I bought from another member that they had stripped it of coraline algae.
  16. When he is hungry you should be able to bait it out with a starfish. Maybe save a couple of the bigger asterinas.
  17. Put your linka in your sump until the harlequin has done his job.
  18. Get freaking real. They are pairing and mating on their own. If they were somehow artificially inseminating them, I could see it as irresponsible. If they pair and mate, I would say it is pretty natural. It is hypocritical for you to even say anything about breeding, period. Its not like you are breeding to save a species. If you were, you would be giving yours away.
  19. I was just looking at their website. This is just 1 48" light over your 75? How deep is your tank? What do you think of the color? It looks a little "white" to me but nice and bright. I have T5's with my color being really close to yours.
  20. Here are a few of the new zoas/palys I just got in. I got 9 different frags but I suck at taking pictures and these are the only ones I could get a half decent picture of.
  21. Thanks guys. "Chevy" is my favorite fish in the tank!!!
