I have heard it is hard to keep ... that is about all I know.

  2. it looks like its a metal halide/pc light combo?
  3. is it a bh 1000? or a 100? either way thats a great price!
  4. go with dead rock and get a little bit of better live rock to start cycling and seeding the dead rock.
  5. Thanks, But keep in mind that you will have to feed that often, an feeding them is one of the major issues with this species. Aquadome has one of these in one of their tanks (at least 4 months now) that is eating frozen cyclopzes Yeah. It is going to be a demanding species to care for, but with this tank, I have my Mom home when I'm not to feed! Ah, it is nice when your parents take interest in your hobbies. No matter how expensive... ok good. i was going to say. that is going to be difficult keeping them fed 3 times a day wen youre going off to school and what not. good research
  6. this species is best kept in mated pairs or harems of one male and multiple females in an aquarium that is 30 gallons or larger. Males are territorial and will not tolerate the presence of one another. If adding more than one bluestripe pipefish to the aquarium, it is recommended to add them at the same time. got this from will's link
  7. the first link says 50 gal and the second says 30 lol
  8. mostly i have seen them online say minimum of 50 gallons and a few can thrive in smaller (30g) but i have never seen any with a 10g or less sign on it.

  12. I am about to buy an 01 chevy silverado with a fleet side bed. i really want a step side bed, but one of the only reasons i chose this truck over some of the other step side trucks i was looking at was the extremely low miles and how well taken care of it was. so i decided i will buy this truck and trade/sell my bed for a step side bed. if interested but worry about how much work it will be, its actually really easy to do. with atleast 2 people, you can get the job done in 3 hrs. and my dad paints cars, so i could have the color changed on the bed easily if needed. both fleet side beds and step side beds can be costly, but you wouldnt have to spend any money with an even trade. the bed on the truck i am getting has a few little dents in it, but i plan on getting the bed in perfect condition by the end of the month if possible. call me or pm me for any questions Corey five12 968 O44seven

  14. hi, I have been kinda freaking out about what I should get my girlfriend for Christmas up until about a week ago. I know she wanted a macro lens for her pentax k2000 DSLR fr a while but I have no idea what to get. I know she will want to take pictures of her coral and her sea horses. Again I am a noob at this so I don't want to ask her what to get obviously so I come to you, my friends. Thanks in advance!

when i broke down my 46 a while back, thats what i used to clear out the reast of the water and sand from the bottom. but i have used it to suck water up before and it seems to do it very quickly! im willing to try it :)

  17. bump for a great set up at a great price!
  18. what did you go with? i loved the shimmer of the metal halides, but thats about it. T5's are the best for getting the color you want imo.
  19. mp10 should be good. thats what im running on my 30 long and it does an amazing job
  20. i actually had a lawnmower blenny and a blue damsel in there with him and they did fine. again, if you keep them well fed, you probably wont have a problem keeping fish. i just wouldnt go spending a bunch of money on fish for a mantis tank gravel filter? as in under gravel? that would be, in my opinion, very helpful in keeping the tank clean. maybe someone on here might have a different opinion. not sure about the hob filter.
  21. you have kept them? So is acrylic important? Did you do live foods or just frozen? I don't know if my skimmer works, i do have a huge filter system. but i have black sand which looks dirty anyway, i just thought the black and white stone would show it's colors better. anything different about keeping them than other reef critters? acrylic is not really that important. yes, they can bust your tank, but only really when they get huge do they pose a threat to your glass aquarium, IMO. i fed him live food and frozen food. you can get live crawfish to feed him and that makes it easy to switch over to frozen foods too, if he doesnt already eat frozen. mine ate frozen silversides and krill mostly. what kind of filter system are you planning on running? and what kind of mantis? there are a lot of great sites on stomatopods on google to see which mantis is best for you. but since they are messy eaters, you might want to check out your skimmer and make sure it works, or get a nice used one from here.
  22. cowabunga dudes!!

  23. mine never had a problem with me putting my hand in there. but if he feels threatened, he might do some damage so having caves will help him to feel less threatened. as far as clean up crew, there are a few things you can keep in there ( i think some starfish n other stuff like that) that he wont eat. its been a couple years since i have had one, but if you keep em well fed, its possible he wont even mess with the clean up crew. get a good skimmer and make sure there is enough flow to keep all the detritus off the sand and that will help tremendously
  24. they are likr dogs, man. they come out when you enter the room as they get used to feeding times and they can tell its owner apart from other people. i used to have one in a tank by itself and it was so awesome to watch him just move around. give them a nice cave to hide in so they feel more comfortable in their home and you will see it become more and more personable. i have seen them get more and more popular over the past couple of years as well. you will have no problem finding them for sale.
