  6. Saturday morning 12-1-12 I received a phone call that will change my life forever. A well respected and loved paramedic, coworker, and more importantly, friend, died in a motor vehicle collision on his way home from his shift at Med-Rescue 17. Captain Randy Trinkle was a 15yr veteran of Austin-Travis County EMS, long time Training Captain and Special Operations Rescue Paramedic, and active member with the Texas Task Force 1.

While driving out to Fredricksburg today in a 2-3 mile long procession full of Ambulances, Fire apparatus, and Police vehicles, I was brought to tears by the show of support from the community that we serve, and the others along the way. Emergency vehicles lined the roadside to honor the work and spirit of a great man. The procession traveled uninterrupted from Austin to Fredricksburg and there was not a single mile that was left unattended. Current and Former Military stood on the side of the road saluting as the enti

re procession passed by. People stopped and stepped out of their cars holding their hand over their heart to pay their respects. The show of support for the men and women that have become my family was overwhelming. For this I would like to thank you. While you may or may not have stood while the procession passed, I felt the strong sense of community that reminds me why I am proud to serve you, the citizens of this great community.

Captain Randy Trinkle is a great man, and while he was laid to rest today, his work has only just begun. Rest in Peace my friend we will take it from here.

I have attached an audio file of radio traffic that many do not get the unfortunate opportunity to hear. What you will hear is Capt. Trinkle's badge number 1602 called over Control (our main dispatch channel) then his badge number will be retired.

Again thank you for making me proud to serve this community

  7. The rules thread is posted. based on this thread and other similar questions, it was decided using manufacturer's specs 5 gallons or under. which is the same as under 6 gallons. if the mfgr says its 5 gallons and it is actually 5.5 then fine its not going to hold the whole 5.5 anyway due to rocks etc. if the actual is less than what is listed then that may be something you want to account for. its less about the amount of water in the tank than what you make of all that open space. decisions decisions decisions

  8. ok rules are posted. please discuss the rules here, Rules will be finalized in 10 days (30 days prior to contest start date)

the red on the coral budget is because the idea was brought up to not have a coral budget. Mainly because of the difficulty in deciding what a coral is worth. Capt. obvious can explain more on that if needed.

  9. Rules:

    2. Livestock: $100
    3. Corals: $150
    4. Equipment: $150
    5. Salt, Chemi pure, Purigen and things that are necessary for livestock health, including supplements and other additives do not count towards this budget, simply for the health of inhabitants.
