  1. Took out the top-off and put a powerhead into the tank and plugged it in. I figure I will get a dc8 and a breakout box. Plug in a momentary switch to activate a feed timer timed to 30 sec. When its pressed it will turn on the top-off.

Ill setup Another switch that will turn off the powerhead for feeding.

Just need to find the breakout box and the dc8

  2. Water test done tonight. Used it to house some corals while I did some work on my DT. Dont worry its dry now. I love this tank. Its going to look great.

As far as the goal. Its to have the one voted the best by your peers and some judges (who have yet to be determined)

  3. The reason we think its the water is because its happened in multiple places.

First my station (city building) water with ice

    we cant remember the second

Third was at chili's ordered dr pepper instead of water.

4th was tea from chic-fil-a with ice (they told us it was filtered)

The water/ice is the only common denominator.

So its not just at the house.

Oh btw wife says thanks for all the help.

  4. I had a lot os success treating dynos peroxide. 0.5mL for every 10 gallons. Zoos hate it but it doesnt hurt them.

I had it everywhere so I did 3 days of darkness and 2 weeks of peroxide. Everyonce in A while I see what looks like it so I treat for a day or 2 and it goes away.

  5. The flu gets ruled out because it is isolated incidents presenting with signs/symptoms of an allergic reaction. Itching, wheezing, rash, hives. These all improve with benadryl, albuterol, epinephrine, and steroids. She has been given an epi pen in the mean time.

We are looking for an allergist today. My thoughts are. I need to test the water and see what exactly is in the water then test the water filtered through our fridge and see what the differences are. Then have the allergist test for the things found in the tap water but missing from the filtered water. Only then can we narrow it down to what the actual problem is.

The wrench in the whole thing is the allergy doesnt happen when taking a shower or brushing her teeth, only when the water is ingested.

    Thoughts?

  6. So this is a strange question but bear with me.

Recently my wife has become allergic to something in our city water. Our fridge filters whatever it is out so that water isnt the problem. Its the tap water that is causing the problem. It started christmas and has gotten progressively worse each time. Bad enough that we are in the ER tonight.

I know we all use rodi for our tanks but does anyone do any testing on the water before the filtration? Any recommendations on where to get water tested to see whats in it then we can know what the allergist should test for.

  7. Apparently you must have a display to change it from celsius to ferinheight. Anyone have a display I can borrow for 5 min? I see dead people. Then I bring them back to life.

    Fixed with firmware update

To answer your ip question, you do need to change the 2 to 1.

I did that and it lost all connectivity. until i get it figured out im running some Cat5 about 10ft in the living room from the switch in the entertainment center. and when i change the subnet it can only be seen by devices in the same subnet. so to fix it i had to go dig out another cable and actually plug in my laptop... either way i jave tried multiple times and configs and gave up about 2am.

3rd thing i would like to do. i dont have a float switch for top off yet and i also dont have a breakoutbox. my topoff consists of a maxijet1200 in a water container. it takes 30 sec a day to top the tank off. how do i program that?

  8. I'll kind of give you a rundown:

    Apex Settings:

    (Network settings tab)

    Disable DHCP

    Aquacontroller address: 192.168.1.50

    Netmask 255.255.255.0

    Gateway: 192.168.1.254

    DNS: 192.168.1.254

    Secondary DNS: 192.168.1.254

    HTTP Port: 8080

    DD-WRT Settings

I have my dd-wrt set to 192.168.1.150 (client bridge mode, note you cannot do DDNS from this router!)

In the wireless security settings on the dd-wrt route, set the l/p to the 2wire's l/p and authentication method .

Those are literally the only things i did to a fresh reset of the dd-wrt router.

ok I had everything working before adding the ddwrt into the mix.

for some reason my DD-WRT router wont work in client bridge mode, but works find in client mode. I dont know that exact differences between the two but when it comes to setup the difference is that i have to change the subnet to something different than my residential gateway. example: RG is 192.168.1.254, Bridge is 192.168.2.1, does that mean i need to set the apex to 192.168.2.40 instead of its original 192.168.1.40?

I had things working until i added that part into the mix. i am going to try it and see what happens. if it doesnt work i will change it back (that is assuming i can find it again)

  9. No broncos for me. A different theme to be revealed at a later date.

I have some fire and ice but id like a pic. My current colony is pretty small and depending on the size I might be interested.

    Anything blue out there?
