Brooks you're on! Jennifer you'd have to get past the attact Pug and Beagle first. Here's a pic of the acan fully expanded.
And a different angle showing off all the great colors in the body
No pictures yet but checking interest in this colony before I take it to the Maast frag swap this weekend. It's massive and very healthy. This is a colony you could easily break up into eight smaller colonies and sell for 50 bucks each. $200.00 takes it.
I'd say as long as the sweepers are not touching each other when fully extended they should be okay. But then again I've seen quite a few pictures when the colonies right up next to each other and they look fine.
Oh yeah and when it comes to placment of the acan they retain colors better under low light. If you can shade them that's even better. I've got mine in the sand bed and slightly shaded and they do great. Like all other corals they will look their best under 20K ish lighting.
How long had it been since your last water change? You may have added a trace element back into your system that was deficient previously. I perform bi-weekly water changes of 15% to add back the trace elements more frequently.
If you want a pump that is dead silent, consumes almost no energy and runs very cool look into the Red Dragon pumps. I have one for return and one running my skimmer and they're freaking awesome!
