caferacermike
Finally got a Tunze 6060 for my 75g. It rocks. My eio M620's weren't cutting it and since I already own Stream makers for my other tanks it was only natural I get the real deal. Wow it's great. Unfortunately my frogspawn and hammers are being blown over. I could move them to a calmer area but was wondering if they will "stiffen up" to the currents? I also have a blueline wave maker coming in a few days and was wondering if I set it up well will my Euphyllia enjoy the back and forth motion and open back up? Or just move them to the bottom of the tank next to my other hammer that isn't bothered?
Ed
I had the same problem. Definitely move them to a calmer area. Not likely that they will adapt to high flow. HTH.
Entropy
My frogspawn never adapted to the flow from my Seio 820's and would pretty much close up so I ended up moving the Seios around until there was just a gentle flow in that area. Never had a hammer, but I assume it would be similar.
auSS/Tin
My hammer never did like the Tunze's and eventually started to recede from the high flow. I think that they only way that they like high flow would be with Tunze wavemaker as the flow is back and forth at such a high frequency that the coral is never pulled/pushed in one direction for any length of time. Hope that makes sense. Bill
caferacermike
Bill it does make sense. That's why i bought a Blueline wavebox to go with it. I got the box and it sucks. So it's now on for 20 minutes and off for 20. Blah. I'm going to sell all of my tunze streams and just get a wave box.
auSS/Tin
I didn't know what a Blueline Tsunami was, makes sense, Tsunami=wave thing. From what Roger has told me about the Tunze's is that only a DC motor can handle the constant up and down of the voltage. AC motors just wind up burning out prematurily with constant on and off operation. Bill
