  1. ShawnM, Thanks for the offer. I got some at the dome.
  2. Looking for a handful of Chaeto or Gracilaria to start my algae reactor. I'm in Cedar Park. Thanks!
  3. I understand what you are saying. However, I was asking nemirn because I thought he was buying the 500 ceriths for $75.99 deal and looking for people to split it with. Maybe I misuderstood.
  4. Cool. FedEx is definitely a better option in this case. nemirn - I would like 200 of the dwarf ceriths ~ $31. How do you want to handle payment?
  5. Will this be coming Express Mail or with a different carrier? I ask because Express Mail is normally a two day delivery from Florida to Cedar Park.

    Freshwater extras..

I could definitely use the rocks for the tank at school if you would be willing to donate them. Thanks, Ed

    Freshwater extras..

How about donating them to a school? If you still have the rocks and/or plants, I would love to have them for the 75g Cichlid tank at school (Volma Overton Elementary). Thanks!
  8. Ace (Hobogato) is on his way to help fix the tank. Thanks Ace!
  9. The front right seam of my 180g blew yesterday. Long story short, I was home at the time (thankfully) and immediately clamped it back together to slow the leak while moving fish, corals, and rock to other tanks/barrels/tubs. My 45g frag tank is now housing 3 tangs, 3 clams, 3 anemones, 2 clowns, 1 copperband, and several corals. My two 18" engineers are in the stock tank with other corals and rock. Everything is now reasonably stable. However, I still need to get the tank fixed! I have left a couple messages for Kingfish, but have not heard back yet. I have heard/read great things about them, but time is critical. Are there any other places in the Austin area that can do this kind of repair? I'm guessing that Weldon 40 should be used to put it back together, but I'm no expert. Looking for advice, ideas, suggestions, etc. Need to get this thing fixed and back in service. Help!
  10. I've bought acrylic rod at Regal before. I used a masonry bit and hammer drill for the holes and it worked well for me.

Jim, Please put me down for 100 Golden Astrea snails.....$29 Thanks, -Ed
  13. I had the same problem. Definitely move them to a calmer area. Not likely that they will adapt to high flow. HTH.
  14. Sedra, Oceanrunner, and Red Sea all sell needle wheel pumps. I'm sure there are others. Ace, I have a Red Sea pump off a Berlin turbo. Might not be big enough, but you are welcome to try it.

    Question

Yep. I just lost a 6" Blue Surgeon and a dozen Chromis to an unexpected, unexplained ammonia spike.crybaby2.gif Bringing the tank back has been a pain. I did briefly consider 'what if I got out'.dontknow.gif Quickly moved past that though. Thought about all of the work/hassle/heartache of taking it down and selling it off. No thanks. I get too much enjoyment out of watching the tank and its inhabitants. Frags from this tank support all of the others. Now I can focus on what I may add in the future, and how to make things better. Before the disaster, I had no desire to add any more fish. Now, maybe I will add something else. I've got to look at this as an opportunity. Clint, My suggestion is to find a new direction or add another dimension to give yourself something to work towards and rekindle that desire. Your tank is outstanding. Can't imagine you taking it down. -Ed
  16. IMO, your current fixture will work, but I would swap out the 20Ks for 10Ks and use the PC for actinic. If you want to replace the fixture the Sunlight supply fixture is a good one. If you like a white look go with the 10K and UVL Super Actinic R T5HO. If you prefer a blue look use the 14K and the same UVL Super Actinic R. Just my thoughts.
  17. Do you need a hang on or in sump model? Aquamedic makes the Turboflotor both ways. It is a good skimmer for the money. I have a Euroreef which works very well, but they are pricey. ASM makes a Euroreef type skimmer for less money. HTH. -Ed

    Hi!

    Welcome to ARC!
  19. 175W HQI? JEBO/Odyssea is the only one I know of that makes a 175W HQI currently. That would definitely limit the bulb choices. 150W HQI or 250W HQI are much more common. HTH.

    PH

My first question is how are you measuring the PH? Have you double checked it with another means of testing? ~7.9 to 8.1 is good range to me, but I do understand the desire to keep it closer to constant. A calcium reactor could do that and (usually) eliminates the need to dose a 2 part. HTH.
  21. Bummer. sad5.gif Hope it heals quickly. Your tank is far too nice not to be able to enjoy it.icon_thumright.gif
  22. The Sohal is 5 - 6 inches and growing. He's a complete pig. Added a pic here: http://www.austinreefclub.com/forums/viewt...1845#1845[/url]
  23. Yep. It is in my 180g. Don't know if you can tell from the pic, but the polyps are longer than the chromis. It is definitely fraggable.
