  1. One of the reasons my tank has been suffering...
  2. What kind of lighting are you keeping it under?
  3. There is one ahead of you Ted. If they back out I will send you an Email.
  4. Instant Ocean Sea Salt Mix - 160gal Bucket unopened. Just got it today in the mail.
  5. You can use egg crate to close up any big holes or even a completely open back. the fish can still get out, but they have to be really accurate to do it.
  6. In the seven years I have been keeping salt water fish I have had two jump out of the tank (dozens jumping into the overflow). I lost a fire goby from my old tank (in wall, completely open back) when my wife slammed the door. I guess the shock wave or noise scare it enough to make it jump. Sad thing is I saw it happen and it probably wouldn't have been a big deal, but the poor little guy actually jumped from the tank right into a five gallon bucket of top of water and by the time I ran around to the back I guess the shock of fresh water plus probably 30 degrees of temp difference did it in. The other was my longnose hawkfish. He jumped out the back of my last tank (open back), but luckily for it I was doing maintenance and actually heard it flopping around being the tank. I don't know how long it was out, but I threw it back in and he is still swimming two years later. Now I have a full canopy that is completly closed. The only way out is through two small 1.5 inch holes in the back or through the 120mm fan in the top. I figure if they want out that bad, then more power to them.
  7. I am in for the 19th. I am not looking to order much though (probably $10).
  8. Remember that a 90g is a relatively small tank when you start talking 400w bulbs. A dual 400w setup will cook the average 90g setup. I ran dual 175's and 2x110w VHo actinics over my original tank (90g) and it grew everything just fine (SPS, LPS, softies). I think 250w probably has the most options bulb wise, but the Iwasaki 15k 175w bulb beats many of the 250's and compares really well to the rest. I think with 400's you will need a chiller (or a massive sump).
  9. It is still Friday Chris... Is the Magnum complete?
  10. I think you will find that there is way too many variables to make it useful. Even identical items vary from batch to batch. It is very frustrating sometimes.
  11. I just use 2 liter bottles full of RO. Fill them about 80%, freeze them, drop them into the water (I used to use them in my sump in my old house), and then return them to the freezer before bed. I only have about 100g of water in my current set up so I just leave my three 5g jugs inside the house the night before.
  12. I have a 58g 30x30x15(Tall) Glass Cages cube (Rimless). I can't see you trading a 180g for it, but just thought I would throw that out there.
  13. You could always plug your lights into a non GFCI outlet. Honestly I don't worry about the lights as much as stuff actually in the tank (heaters/pumps/etc.). You can always turn off the lights if you are working in the tank to avoid any risk. IMO a GFCI is not going to save the tank if the lighting falls in.
  14. All that is left: Aquarium Systems Natural Wave Wavemaker This is basically a six outlet power strip with three of them on a wavemaker. You can see the specs on Marine Depot. 39w T5 Actinic bulb Giesemann This is a 36 inch bulb (33 inch actual I think). I used it for about six months.
  15. What all do you want out of list? There is one person ahead of you, but I don't know what they want either. I guess it is only Wed, so the garbage man doesn't come until the day after tomorrow.
  16. Aquarium Systems Natural Wave Wavemaker This is basically a six outlet power strip with three of them on a wavemaker. You can see the specs on Marine Depot. CoralVue 250w Metal Halide Eballast. Not pretty, but works great. Has a mogul socket, but no reflector. Does NOT have a power cord. VHO sockets prewired (two sets of two). These were left over from a 4x110w VHO setup so they can stretch to four foot bulbs (probably longer) or any of the shorter bulbs. 39w T5 Actinic bulb Giesemann This is a 36 inch bulb (33 inch actual I think). I used it for about six months. Garbage man picks up tomorrow.
  17. My stupid clown keep trying to eat the smaller ones. They seem to be alright after being spit out, but the clown has been doing it for two days now. I only lost a couple of the Florida Ceriths. They rest are going fine. Maybe mine were packed correctly.
  18. On a side note, I think black looks better (at least on the vertical seams). I don't think it is that much more expensive to get black, but like mentioned above make sure it is 100% silicone with no additives.
  19. I wonder why some did and some didn't? I didn't get to see how they were packed in the big box, but I wonder if the time from pickup to in tank made a difference. Mine were in the tank about 30 minutes after pickup (5:30pm).
  20. The is really odd. I would have never guessed the center brace. I figured the darn thing was the stongest part of the tank being so big.
  21. What happened Ryan?!?! That tank was **** near bullet proof.
  22. I lost a couple of the ceriths as well, but honestly I am pretty pleased with what I got. Considering I paid $2 a snail for my astreas this deal was a super bargin. I am kinda glad I didn't end up ordering more snails, but I could have used some more hermits. I didn't know they were going to be so cool looking. There are snails all over my tank now.
