The answer is if they didnt come with names you cant just assign a name. 

The names trace back to specific lineage to a specific person.  You cant / shouldnt just say they look like this so are this.

Not sure I completely agree with you there.   I agree you can't call it a Jason Fox XYZ, but it if it is clearly an XYZ than you can say what it is.  Example Whammin Watermelons don't carry a lineage but you can clearly tell that a zoa is a Whammin Watermelon.  Or Oxides, or BamBam, or King Midas, or many others.   But one shouldn't add JF, WWC, ASD, ORA, etc to the front if they do not have known specific lineage; even if JF has a named JF King Midas.
