nuxx
Almost time for frags!!!! Yeap I have two big pieces of rock that have been in my sump for 18 months or so, one all nice and gross with algae all over it in the fuge lol... Also have a new 8x8x4 MarinePure block in the sump I'm going to move over to the frag tank as well. Just ordered two 75 gallon bottles of BioSpira I'm going to dump in there too. Also have some other bacteria sitting around. Get this thing kicked off We're going to LA on the 21st, so going to pick some frags/coral while we're down there. There are some really interesting smaller wholesalers down there with nice stuff Not going too overboard though... not sure how the tank is going even mature/handle coral. We go to LA every few months, so the next trip I'll pick up a lot more
nuxx
Fired the tank up... No leaks and went ahead and added the salt. Haven't messed with the drains much so it's pretty noisy... Have the RW-15s set to Else mode on their lowest setting, still getting good water movement. Will sync and run wave mode after everything is mixed...
nuxx
Just added two large pieces of rock that have been in the display's sump for 18 months and also the 8x8x4" MarinePure block. To also help kick off the cycle I added two very dirty filter pads from the display. Added some leftover nitrifying bacteria as well as 2 bottles of BioSpira. Hopefully the cycle goes nice and quick Also put in the ATO and 29 gallon ATO storage tank. Sorry pic from IP cam...

nuxx
Thanks Didn't want to get too crazy with harder to keep coral since it's a brand new tank. Chancing it with the acros...
nuxx
Decided to raise the lights a little bit... For the 3 watt cheap Chinese lights, I used a 2x4 cut to 4" long. For the Current Orbit Marine I used a 2x2 cut to 3.5" long. I then used Krylon Fusion to paint the wood black. Drilled three holes at the top of each block to attach the legs of each fixture with black zip ties. I then painted some metal tabs and screwed them into the bottom of the blocks to keep them from sliding off and into the tank. Here are some pictures:
