Thought it be pretty cool to start a build thread for the store to show the progress. Had a few members stop by today and a few more walk-ins who saw the sign.

Felt pretty good hearing feedback. Starting to feel like an actual store. Still a ton of work to do, but everyday it feels like it's starting to get there.

Thinking about kicking off the ebay before the store actually opens. Don't have an actual date set yet for opening. Looking at 1st of Jan worst case scenario.

Will have a grand opening with BBQ and deals.

I'll start with the outside, and post some pics tomorrow of the inside. Will try to update the Facebook page ASAP as well.

Got to give a big shoot out to Chris(o0zarkawater). He designed the Niko's Reef logo. I think he did an amazing job. It's unique.

this should be fun to watch.

Yeah, thought it would be kinda neat to do a build thread for the store. Never seen it done. I always liked following people's build threads, so I figured I'd give a few pics and updates here and there. Meant to start it earlier, but has been a little stressful and busy to this point. It won't be as detailed and as many updates as a regular build thread, but it will show some of the progress being made. There are a few tanks that I would like to show the status/build of. One was a SPS kingdom in its hay day.

It looks great buddy! I'll be stopping by this weekend when the pumps come in.

Have you considered getting some of your initial livestock locally? Offering store credit or cash for frags, fish, live rock etc., would be a good way to start stocking the shelves. Generally, credit is given at 50% and cash is 25% of whatever you plan to sell that item for. Buying LR for $2 per pound would probably be pretty acceptable.

The petstore that I used to managed treated every FO tank with Meth Blue, but did not do a QT system. The tanks were treated on day 1 only and the medication was gradually removed during the bi-weekly water changes.

I updated the original thread on the powerheads. There was a weather delay in Texas that caused a delay on the pumps. I actually just got off the phone with UPS and have more info. Now if that info is correct, that remains to be seen. They gave me wrong info on the 11th.

Yeah, all of that will be available

Haven't found a supplier locally that meets my needs. I've tried many times. Any suggestions?

That's awesome. Please post an address and phone # so we know where we can reach you. Do you have an opening date set yet? Thanks.

I actually don't have a date in mind. I know worst case scenario will be 1st of Jan. I plan to have a grand opening date with BBQ and deals.

Yeah, I should have posted the store info on the 1st post of this build thread. Was pretty exhausted when I posted it. I'll enter that info on the 1st post.

No way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See guys, if you believe and never give up good things happen. Now lets all say the pledge:

I Pledge Allegiance,

To the tank,

Which may or may not actually exist,

And to the dropoff,

Which we all want to see,

One tank, two halves, indivisible,

With Skimmers and SPS for all.

Amen.

In Phasmatis Aquarium Nos Fides!

Sorry for not sticking to my words with an update on the inside. Had an issue today with my tire that held me up for the most part of today. Was at the shop for less then a hour, and had something that needed to be taken care of immediately. Will try to get some pics this weekend, if time permits.

Hopefully more updates to come today, but while I was taking a break, figured I post this.

This is one of the projects that we are working on at the shop. Just finished up with the leak test. Had a small leak in the plumbing that will need to fixed, and some old O-rings that needed to be replaced. Besides that, this bad boy is ready to go. I will need to learn how to run the profilux dosing as well. Got the connector that I needed for my computer to run the software, now just got to figure out the software. Haven't looked into it yet. Hopefully it won't be too complicated; if so, Clint has told me he would give me a hand. He was nice enough to help us out with the plumbing as well.

Choose a party. Cleopatra's graduation party next door or Niko's Reef dipping/fragging party, or both like my wife....

One has this.

The other has this.

post-2511-0-89977100-1387087931_thumb.jppost-2511-0-73343500-1387089871_thumb.jppost-2511-0-90064300-1387089892_thumb.jp

All the corals look like the handled themselves well at the party. Now they will be in QT for the next few weeks for further evaluation.

We have the tanks # and documented so we can keep up when these dipped and QT'd.

Haven't updated this in awhile, so I figured I would post a few pics to show some of the progress that is being made. I suck at taking pics so please excuse the horrible shots. Will post some of the pics my wife has been snapping here and there soon. Think there a few on Niko's Reef on Facebook as well.
