Lorien
The internet says that urchins can eat nori sheets. My urchin does not have even the slightest interest in my nori sheets. Is this because he isn't hungry or because my nori is "roasted?" How and where would I find raw nori sheets or do I even care? Thanks! Timfish
I never bother with feeding my urchins. You do raise an interesting question though. I know there are different kinds so you might need to experiement some.
+KimP
My urchins have plenty of algae to snack on with just what pops up in the tank. I don't feed mine extra either.
ct67stang
I do nothing for mine either. But you should try Ulva macro. If im not mistaken its a main ingredient on nori sheets. But dont quote me. Take it as a lead Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk
subsea
You can quote me. Nori is composed of many types of macro algae. Because of the prolific nature of Ulva, it is the main ingredient for generic Nori. Roasted Nori is a people thing. Patrick
Lorien
Thanks, y'all. I am toying with the idea of collecting them, so they would need to be fed eventually. I did find a recipe for urchin cookies that looks doable, but after my one urchin got stuck in a macro for a couple days, I am not so sure about the urchin collection plan... +KimP
Got stuck? Like tangled or stuck there busy eating it all?
Lorien
I thought it might be eating it, so I left it there for two days. But, it was much smaller when I pulled it out. I think it was really stuck. I am going to keep an eye on it before I get any more. Silly creatures.
