Robb in Austin
Happy New Year all! Today I was testing my FW tanks and decided to test the tap water. Here are my results, using API test kits and a BBQ thermometer: temp= 66F pH= >7.6(only had the low range pH, but already knew it was high) KH= 4 GH= 143.2ppm, or 8 drops This is a significant change from the city's website, and I can only assume due to changes in route from the plant to my house. Has anyone else tested theirs' and found similar readings? Thoughts, info, etc. Robb
Entropy
I haven't test mine, but I used about 90 gallons of it to start my tank. The rest I got from RCA and the machine outside HEB. I really need to break down and buy a RO unit, but for now it is two 5 gallon jugs every week.
JamesL
Last time I checked my tap water here in Buda (community well .. back in March 2007) it had a TDS of 278. Since I only have a 24g salt and a 16 gallon fresh, I have my own RODI unit.
